Better Call Saul actor Paul Geoffrey dead of cancer at 68: https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/us-celebrity-news/breaking-better-call-saul-paul-30200624 Geoffrey's most important credit was in the movie Excalibur (1981). So, I guess I could have had two hits now if I had gone through with my idea of a Breaking Bad Theme Team.

Pope Francis, possibly? -
I tried to find out if she has that bad cancer gene mutation. If she does, she wont last a year more. But the illness seems to be moving slowly.

Surgery successful, they're saying.

Yesterday, he tweeted about the writers strike. Very composed tweets, pretty impressive.

Yep, been a couple of busy days! We're roughly 15 down from reaching the 1-hit-per-day rate, which is pretty good.

Star cardiologist Gaurav Gandhi dies of heart attack: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/health-fitness/health-news/cardiologist-gaurav-gandhi-who-had-done-more-than-16000-surgeries-dies-of-heart-attack-at-41-report/articleshow/100820338.cms Admittedly, not entirely ironic because he can't operate on himself, but yeah, good for a chuckle.

Doug Cockle, voice actor for Gerald of Rivia, aka "The Witcher" in the high-profile video games has "full-blown" prostate cancer: https://www.gamingbible.com/news/witcher-fans-support-geralt-actor-confirms-prostate-cancer-985920-20230607

Yeah, the writing is on the wall, he's just a VERY high-profile person so it's a little hard to think he's dying soon. But respiratory issues, intestinal issues, part of the colon has already been removed!, the damaged lung. His pontificate is now much longer than Benedicts'. And he's older than his predecessor was when he retired. And Benedict was basically just "old", there was no reason he shouldn't have reached this high age. With Francis already being 86 years old, it's his time soon. Maybe even too soon for the next Deathlist.

Dave King, radio "legend" from Lubbock, Texas, died today according to the article behind a paywall: https://www.everythinglubbock.com/news/local-news/lubbock-legend-dave-king-passed-away-on-monday-son-says/

Yeah, not sure about what to do with him. Can I replace him? Is he a hit? Or is it simply over?
-
You seem very invested in this competition :). Though I guess that's part of the appeal of this pool, the best to watch as it unfolds.

Well, at least Beverly Shade is a clean hit: https://slamwrestling.net/index.php/2023/06/03/womens-wrestling-great-beverly-shade-dies/ As for Joe Plater, so far there's only this: https://www.btf-thyroid.org/news/joe-plater A QO I'd say, but it doesn't tell the exact date. I'll keep looking for it, but I realize that the burden of proof is on me, and as long as it's unclear, I cant get points. But I assume Cale Yarborough is in... (?)
-
Beverly Shade was my alternative pick... ...congratulations!

US streamer Puppers has died of ALS at just 32: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-65787556 He got famous by playing Dead by Daylight. Saw him move into hospice last week. BBC obit!

Yeah, I think the post above is from yesterday, just the tweet is from today. However, she says "late last night", meaning it could be past 0:00. Then the internet community interpreted "last night" as yesterday. the day before.
-
It is possible that he actually died on the 31st, let's see.
-
As posted in the Deathlist Cup thread, Joe Plater has died yesterday.
-
Joe Plater died on the 1st according to his wife: But will there be a QO?
-
Belated happy birthday! Oh, and Diego had his, too. Happy birthday, too!

Banana's and my team are similar. Makes me wonder if it comes down to a Jimmy Carter vs. Daniel Ellsberg competition. Jimmy Carter was my 3rd sub, I think. I am fully on team drol, Carter is going to last a little longer - I hope!

It's pride month... or so they say.

Let's be honest, the only thing that keeps the markets and the economy from working perfectly, is humans.
