Rolf Harris and a BAFTA:

Only if there is a qualifiyng obit, which there doesn't seem to be. Spade_Cooley is trying to tell you that you should be able to answer your own questions easily.

Laura Nuttall, Peter Kay's friend with brain cancer now dead after a long fight at 23: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/breaking-mum-brain-cancer-campaigner-30040664 She might be list of the lost... but maybe we just disregard these cases that wouldn't qualify for the DDP anymore.

Sarath Babu obit: https://www.indiatoday.in/movies/regional-cinema/story/veteran-actor-sarath-babu-passes-away-at-71-2382585-2023-05-22 But maybe we should wait a few hours....
-
Ah, you're fast.
-
Well... he's still dead! No, but you're right, I tried to squeeze in an obit in 5 five free minutes and vaguely recalled the name.

Quentin Tarantino says that Rick Dalton has died. Classic Hollywood Western actor. I think he inspired Brad Pitt's role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (or Leo DiCaprio's role?) https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2023/05/rick-dalton-dead-says-quentin-tarantino

SP Hinduja is in. Next update not until Sunday evening, unless an A+++++ list name dies tonight. Again, I won't be at home. It's a busy month, I know. Next month will be better.
-
I was wondering how wacky their stunts would get after the coronation. They have to bridge the gap until Charles' death somehow.
-
SP Hinduja seems to have died, richest man in the UK? https://www.devdiscourse.com/article/entertainment/2455096-s-p-hinduja-dies-at-age-of-87 Big, if true. DDP pick for msc.

Michael Tilson Thomas update, behind a paywall: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/michael-tilson-thomas-why-brain-cancer-wont-stop-me-conducting-nql6p35vv Looks good on the photo, and is still conducting. Details however elude me. -
Minor health update, he's trying to work out in his home gym to keep fit: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12092961/A-Place-Suns-Jonnie-Irwin-shares-health-update-amid-terminal-cancer-battle.html I can't see the weight he's pushing though.

MMMDP #3 Form Guide Jimmy Carter The former president of the USA (1926-1933) has been enjoying his weekend getaway at hospice care so much, he's been returning there again and again. Could his expected massive consumption of margaritas and home-grown peanuts lead to a final stroke of the pen (or something)?
-
It is, and the real question is, why not!
-
I see that, but it's behind a paywall. I suspect it's a paid-for death notice. Not a news article in the "former hospice president dies at XX" sense.
-
I saw that, and would say no (having picked him myself). Isn't it basically a copy/pasted paid-for obit? Meaning, not "news" but your regular obituary section where you can see if your neighbour has died? Considering however, that the news only now became public, he might still get something from the local paper.
-
Yes, he is responsible for "microfoundations", meaning according to him, every macroeconomic model needs to built in such a way that every variable is perfectly explained through basic microeconomic axioms. It's basically the origin of "the government should be run like a household". A terrible ideologist.
-
Ah damn, never knew when to use the name. I wonder how public this death is going to go.

These Telegram pictures, they're making German news, too: https://www.spiegel.de/ausland/belarus-medien-veroeffentlichen-angeblich-aktuelle-bilder-von-alexander-lukaschenko-a-3c3b5741-3bd9-4498-8244-87475d8e28f2 They say that the bandage is around the wrong arm?

I DO think that there is some fire under that smoke. Yes, the internet says that this might be the beginning of the takeover of Belarus by Russia. Lukashenko, in my opinion, is a little underrated, when it comes to "dictatorial skill". He managed to carve out an independent Belarus that for the longest time managed to maneuvre between Russia and the EU. Their GDP isn't even all that bad. If Putin hadn't been hell-bent on resurrecting a Russian empire, Lukashenko might have allowed a little liberalization, maybe like China. But we know now, looking at Ukraine, that Putin would never have allowed that. Anyway, maybe the illness is only a pretense for him to bow out alive. But I DO have him in my DDP theme team.
