    COVID 19 - Second Wave

You seriously just tried to weasel your way out of your error with this? For shame. We all make mistakes. If you had just said 'oops' when it was pointed out in the first place , I'd have thought better of you and not agreed you're acting like a moron with a shovel. Grow up. And yes that is condescending, it's meant to be.

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

Huh? The clocks just went back right? Not the calendar by a month? Kenny mate it's the 27th October today isn't it? How is the 25th of September either last week, or, if counting figures from last week as this week (since this actual week is only 2 days old and can't have complete figures yet), the one before that? Note 1. I'm confused. Note 2. For the avoidance of all doubt I'm just asking not being condescending and don't want a sarcasm war about it please.
  3. I've done the sums, 50% of this board is Scots (tempted to say Scotch just to piss them off). The other 50% is gay. Yes there's some cross pollination Venn diagram wise (I'm looking at you Wills) but anyway. The non-gay, non Scots amongst us are confused about these local derbies and their significance. My sheep has longer hair than yours, so there.

1978 Knebworth. Before they got 3 and all poppy. Happy days. ETA: 1979 Led Zep, masterful. 1980.....wtf???? The Beach Boys??? sponsored by Capital Radio or something? Think I was down the local playing pool. Fuck that.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2021

....Being a nob. Ok a lot of 'world records' are dangerous and pointless and ironically that's kind of the point. This though? It's your boat to float fella.

This outcome, the planet, and anyone with half a brain approves of.
  7. I keep looking and keep seeing April 6th last visit. Also a bit concerned.

    27. Sir David Attenborough

Aware? Yes. Happens all the time, in fact the current US president has made a lifetimes habit of it. Does that make it ok to post opinion as fact? No. Hardly.

If by 'almost double' you mean 10% as opposed to 6%.....then it appears I can interpret it thanks. It's just another way of expressing it that looks like a lot more on the face of it. You could also say that 1 in 10 is likely to be a denier past 65 and that over 1 in 20 between the ages of 18-64 is. Which looks a whole lot closer. Lies, damned lies and statistics. The original point was that crem had made an assertion of fact, there wasn't anything to back it up. If he had that poll at the time he should have linked it in the first place or said "it's my belief that..." And there's still no evidence about the assertion that "Attenborough is more liked by younger people than older people". Which of course may also be true, but there's nothing showing that it is. Plenty of time to go googling for something to back that up too.

    27. Sir David Attenborough

good grief.... 18-34 94% 35-64 93% 65+ 90% probably 10% of the 65+ answered, "whats for tea?" And Attenborough isn't mentioned anywhere in it.

What poll? link? And where's the one says old folk like Attenborough less than young ones? Evidence or it's just opinion. You are of course, as anyone, entitled to express an opinion, but if you can't back your assertion up with evidence, then of itself it's fake news.....

What data are you basing that on? Because unless you can produce some it's just your opinion. tldr: rubbish.

fs @Banana give it up. Celebrity is dependant on people en masse liking what they do Yes, we all agree 'one' fan is neither here nor there versus the sleb. That doesn't change the fact that slebs' dissing their own fanbase is shooting themselves in the foot. Drop it for gawds sakes it's just getting tedious now.
  14. I've liked everything I've ever seen from Rich Hall. Linda Smith was somehow underrated particularly when compared to Victoria Wood who did seem exactly that, Toasty, a little too smug. Concur with MSC completely about Morecambe and Wise, Andrew Preview is magical, but didn't and still doesn't make me laugh out loud. Also about..... Michael McIntyre - I've had dentistry sessions that were funnier than him. And in the same vein, Peter Kay, who fills vast auditoria and spends 20 minutes banging on about his biscuit falling apart when he dunks it. Must be me.

Another thread with one person banging a drum to their own beat and absolutely everyone else banging their heads on a desk. It's a simple enough, as @RoverAndOut has already pointed out about as concisely as possible. It's a symbiotic relationship, the very thing that makes you a celebrity is having an audience that appreciates what you do. You can't be a celebrity without an audience of 'fans'. It's an unequal relationship to be sure, but without one you cannot have the other. What the hell skittles has to do with all this I have no idea, it's an awful analogy if that was the intention.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

The premise is great, particularly for me since I find actual superhero films too tedious for words (I accept that may be just me), and the show itself is pretty good. Just starting on series 2. Agreed, Karl Urban should have been told to stick to his native NZ within the first 5 minutes, must have been an all American crew because a single brit could have told them....

This is unnecessarily rude even for you. The OP did say he had tried to track an appropriate thread.

    Disc Jockeys

Not sure what qualifies as balearic, but since sweet harmony apparently qualifies this particular version with the counterpoint de da da da da over the top I am very fond of. (yes I know that's not official musical notation :P). Fun fact #354, I liked the original 90's track, but this turned up on the end of an episode of Dalziel and Pascoe of all places (s7 e4 for the cognoscenti) and I thought, that's a bit different and a definite improvement for me. Then had to track down which version it actually was.
