The trouble is my interest waxes and wanes, whether with the moon or something else I couldn't say. Then I end up thinking I'm being unfair on others by only voting some of the time. But sure, I'll certainly have a look-see if I have 'til next year

Kill or Save: UK No.3 Hits of the 90s

AFAIR It was the same 3 people in the previous round and I just cba because it was only a matter of time. In the end though my failing is probably that I just cba enough in general about it, I like what I like and by now I know those with similar musical tastes hereabouts (eta: yourself clearly amongst them) and those who pick dross with unerring accuracy. It's probably my limited attention span in the end - mea culpa. -

I didn't expect it to win either. For what it's worth my hypothetical votes along with @Toast's are there in spirit. But there were 3 people absolutely bent on killing it putting -6 every vote so even if you me and toast use our +4 every single day we're still going down the pan by 6 a day. Add @TQR for another +4 and it's still -2 a day. Most others might downvote it once in a while... It's a game of popularity. Look what happens when people vote in anything eh? Trump that. -

Fill your boots . If everyone loved it, it wouldn't be left-field I suppose - so there's that. Never going to stop me thinking it's worth 100 of Shania Twains ditty and I don't even mind that one. -

One of the reasons I've put at least a temporary hold on voting in these. Stupid as it may be it's just depressing to see one person devoting all their energy to downvoting something like this and upvoting something just catchy or worse utterly slushy garbage. It do(es)n't impress me (much). They are entirely entitled to their opinion of course but it brings me no joy. In other news a member of my pool team deliberately put Last Christmas on the Jukebox last Thursday just to whammageddon and piss me off. That's him dropped in the new year, and likely for most of the rest of it too. -
Not necessarily - however he needs a new pair of shoes as the old ones have sloughed off in sympathy.

Whamaggedon avoided for me thus far this year, but I hold no real hopes of making it all the way - I've been punched in the gut in Tesco's late on before and notably in 2021 by the radio of some guys installing double glazing. Still for 2024 so far so good (as the man passing the 6th floor said of his fall from the 20th) -
From the From the new posts precis where you only see the text not the pic I read that as Nigel Farage (thread) - Avoids Jail. And thought - that's a pity. Turns out I'm happier once I actually look at the post.

I didn't say I liked that either, I don't - but in honesty my post seemed negative enough even for a grumpy old git, really just seemed overkill making it even more so.

That's like saying I'd rather eat a turd than a bowl of diarrhoea. Cilla was as annoying as hell in anything, there was a woman who should have stuck to singing - and blind dates only positives are that it's A: gone and B: Love island and towie are even worse. Am I a snob? Probably, but this stuff is lowest common denominator garbage of the worst (and cheapest to make) kind.

I may have said it before but whilst I can be a right pain in the arse about grammar when it suits me, my attitude towards this particular error has softened ever since I remembered there's no such distinction between countable and uncountable when it's in reference to a greater amount not a lesser - it's just more in either case. That's plainly nonsensical logically if not grammatically. It still grates though, I guess I'm a traditionalist in these things. -

Feargal Sharkey would like a word, he doesn't think that's an Undertone. *To my knowledge no group was ever named 'The Fucking Blatants' but I suppose it's possible. -

I gave up complaining in, and about, this thread some time ago. Gooseberry's work ethic in this matter is second to none. His ability to withstand my constant jibing and continue unrelenting is also second to none. I lost the battle. You can pick up my pitchfork and carry on - please do, it's just over there somewhere... I will appreciate your picking up the baton for the fray as will @Toast. Even @Paul Bearer has expressed disdain for a hatched thread in a forum dedicated to the nearly dispatched. At least thus far we haven't gone overboard on matched....yet. -

I always found it so, particularly the 'quick' or so I was repeatedly told. -

Jointly responsible for this. Absolute class in my view. -
I've never found that last visited metric accurate it's always out of date. It's more reliable for people who haven't visited in years. but I still don't trust it.

Are yoiu certain it was his wife and not a call girl or other lady of the night? You know the type - something of the night about her?

Long overdue thread for Time Lords discussion. It really shouldn't be overdue, lets face it, if one can time travel that ought not to happen. ETA: Don't get me wrong I was a huge fan of Asimov and Clarke as a teenager and am still quite fond of Ronald D Moores' reboot of Battlestar Galactica, at least until it got stupidly spiritual/religious towards the end, not to mention Stagate SG1 which is an absolute riot in places. It's just that as an adult I never got Dr Who. Maybe I should have, but it is what it is.

Anything that puts one over on this cunt I'm in favour of. Utter arsehole with no redeeming character traits at all.

Edit: Contrary to what those on the right (yes including you MyMango) may think, I do understand that many voted on the basis that they always voted Republican in the name of Small State and low taxes and not necessarily for the man. Also that the economy actually did better in his previous term than the succeeding democrats (though that is probably more chance than anything active). Even that his trade protectionism may be good for American jobs in the short term. I still do not understand how anyone could vote for that abhorrent excuse for a human, except possibly because he was the only man in the race - which is I suppose a reason, albeit a rubbish one.
