Site updated! Well done to all those who scored points, particularly To Die For, who scored with Shriver and Novak to tie for first in the Ordinary Team category! In other news, I am now accepting entries for the CPDP 2009-2010 edition... same rules as the last round, looks like Never Came To Maryport will get first dibs on the Theme Team and, barring his choosing of elderly Canadian hockey players, I'll be keeping the same Theme Team this year, as it was rather successful this round. Anyhow, I'll send out an email to all current competitors unless you've already sent me a team, in which case I will confirm right away. Otherwise, players old and new are more than welcome. Entries go to cpdp2006(at)gmail.com Why don't I throw out a link while I'm at it?

With all the fuss about Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Billy Mays, no one noticed that poor ol' Ernst Barkmann died in between. No English-language obit that I can find, let alone a proper one for the DDP.

Indeed, it's not unheard of the other way either.

Picked Biggs, could be Swayze or Kennedy... who knows?
-
He's been mentioned all over, but I figured this would be the best spot - jazz guitarist Lawrence Lucie has died at the age of 101.
-
Removed all the dead ones (I think, it's been a while) - hopefully have some time blocked out tomorrow to add more suggestions.
-
I love how despite having died almost 2 months ago, news on Michael Jackson's death is still the front story and is pre-empting Novak. Anyways, well done DL!

Illery is alive, she has a Myspace Page!

Just finished with classes and thesis and stuff and am traveling later today - hopefully I can update for these two plus the Hall of Ghosts for the distinguished Canadian senator tomorrow.

Do you have examples? Links maybe? Something that proofs your interesting thesis? Is my word not enough for you? http://www.nitrateville.com/viewtopic.php?t=4181 People on that thread, as well as Robert Young who contacted the family, are calling bullshit on this one...

Great post LFN. The real villains are the airlines who think it's OK to stack people like sardines. I think they make these reclining seats for the perverse enjoyment of their staff. Maybe , this or this might prove therapeutic. That was beautiful. I've just added a new film to "must see" list.

The prognosis doesn't look very good for Allen Schellenberger. I so nearly picked him for my DDP team, but changed my mind at the last minute because I wasn't conviced he'd get the right obituary. I think I replaced him with Alex Higgins. He is dead. http://consequenceofsound.net/2009/08/14/l...ger-dead-at-39/ Interestingly enough, at least according to Wikipedia, Ted Kennedy has the type of brain tumour...

Stanley Lucas is still alive and has been trying to remain as anonymous as possible; however, Robert Young and/or his group of muck-rakers are trying to do their best to disrespect these privacy wishes, hence his appearance on Wikipedia. We had to protect the Kama Chinen article to prevent it from being recreated for just this reason...

Its a little sad to see a player of Fitzroy's last premiership team go the way of the club itself, I don't know about the other resident Australians but I'm not a fan of the Lions. Indeed there's only one more of them left too: 98 year-old Clen Denning.

Too bad no one picked former VFL player Laurie Bickerton on the DDP: he's just died on his 92nd birthday. Of course, I haven't seen a proper obit yet...
-
Former Canadian Senator and CPDP pick Stanley Haidasz has died at the age of 86. Not often that I catch anyone from the Hall of Ghosts, so catching a particularly obscure one makes my morning.

Site updated to reflect the deaths of McNamara, Patch, Robson and Aquino. Well done to all involved with points! As always, let me know if there's any mistakes...

The Remakable Banshees Scream
Canadian Paul replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
What about ghostofchat whatever? I was going to suggest Bob Loblah too, but it seems like he's been nuked off the face of the forum... -
Can't say that I'm unhappy to have just moved away from this place.

I picked Biggs the last two times, might as well pick him again...

Ah, it used to be the case that whenever I traveled, DL would get a hit, but then it stopped for a while. Good to see we're back on track! Well done DL and now, thanks to Allingham and Robson, I had a hit in July on every DP I'm participating in! Which would be a lot more impressive if I'd had any hits in any of them more recently than February.

Got a busy week ahead, but will try to shove in an update for McNamara and Patch somewhere in it...

You know what pal? You're really starting to fekin piss me off as well. Don't come onto a forum (run by Brits) and ask such an insulting question. And don't you think it's a tiny bit rude to judge a country by what religion dominates there? You can take your bible bashing and shove it up your arse for all I care. How dare you storm on here and take such an attitude with people who actually bother contributing to this site. Take a hint and get off of here. Yes, I'm aware that posting that will only make things worse, but it's always darkest before the dawn anyways...

Latest rumour: Emma Watson... I wonder if they would have found someone to replace her in Potter?

Serious point here, mind. The level of news interest in this case suggests that a few inspired picks - like Ivy Bean - will easily be DDP points scoring fodder when they go. Pensioners + pluck = points. Nearly a year later and Ivy Bean is still going strong.
