I'm pretty certain he died in the 1980's. I did have a book about Scottish internationals, but I sold it a few years back, which I regret as it could help with things like this. I am almost certain, though, that all the pre-war cup finallists are dead, as the last one, a chap who played for southampton died about a year ago.. just after their cup final win, if I recall correctly. And I know I have him down as "deceased" in my internationals book. Jimmy Connor is also listed as deceased by worldfootball.net. I'll updated Wiki eventually. I have a fairly sizable list of 90+ football players with unknown DODs, but I'll spare everyone here...

Ah, I tried this many years ago. I sincerely hope your thread fares better than mine. -
Right, thanks! I'll update this probably the next time someone dies.

Site updated to reflect the death of Henry Allingham. Well done to Never Came to Maryport.

Frank McCourt has gone in to a hospice and is reported to have only weeks left to live. McCourt is now more or less where Cronkite was one or two weeks ago...

Giving Biggs a chance to redeem himself after letting me down last time.

Bloody hell, that's my first hit on any deadpool since Wendy Richard, and it's the LAST person on my HDP list. I'm getting bad at this... Anyways, I'll update the CPDP later today.
-
Almost though... he was one or two places away from making my team, but I figured that he wouldn't get a proper obit... I'll be interested to see if he does...

Maria del Carmen Bousada de Lara: I can only imagine under what letter OoO would have placed this on the DDP. Actually, I feel like she was on the DDP or the HDP in some year past... maybe not...

Site updated to reflect the death of Edward Kenna. Well done to 2 Farts and a Splash! Particularly as I seem to be a bit off the ball lately, let me know if you catch any mistakes.

Kim Jong-il appears in public for only the second time since his "stroke".

Australia's last living VC recipient from World War II, Ted Kenna, has died, two days after turning 90. That'll be a CPDP update sometime soon. Also, old-tyme conservative MP Reader Harris has shuffled off at the age of 96.

And then a few hours later, the 2nd President, John Adams... -
Béla Király, "a key figure in Hungary's ill-fated anti-Soviet revolution in 1956" died today - key enough to be a unique pick on the DDP, but not key enough to have garnered an appropriate obit (yet).

Arundell also scored a hit, for Octopus of Odstock's ordinary team. I wouldn't have known had OoO not mentioned so.. EDIT: Noticed you've already knew and he just was lacking an obit. Never mind. Has there been an obit for Arundell? I haven't seen one... I'll wait until the weekend then, if there isn't one, I'll update for Arundell, Jackson, Foss and Rogers. No obit for Arundell yet, so site updated for all of the above, as well as Karl Malden. I did find out that that, however, that Arundell founded Mystique, which blew my mind as an Atari collector.
-
Voted for Ronnie Biggs, since I can't tell whether Cronkite will go instantly or linger forever.
-
I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this, but Jeff Goldblum really is dead.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive
Canadian Paul replied to Catherine's topic in DeathList Forum
Perry turned 100 the other day. Maybe this thread can be merged somewhere else, but I figured it might be the best place to mention it. By the way, that post was almost three years ago and, out of all of them, Eaton-Travis, Lane, Kent, Perry, Bartlam (at least according to IMDb), Allan (ditto), Rainer, Stuart, Laemmle, Page, and Ros are still alive. Claverling, Oldland, Baring, Boyd, and Grey were already dead at the time of the discussion too. I just happened to be thinking about this and it happens to be exactly one year since my last update (barring the leap year) so, out of all of them, Eaton-Travis, Kent, Bartlam (apparentely she was alive at least as recently as March 2007), Allan (same caveat as last time), Rainer, Stuart, Laemmle, Page, and Ross are still alive - we only lost Lane and Perry over the year, perhaps a good survival rate given their ages. One year later and there were even fewer casualties: in fact, only one: Anita Page. -
True, but this is also a list for people picking teams for their own personal deadpools, and there are always circles where her obit will count. Anyhow, I think I've removed all the dead ones.
-
I've been away for the past two weeks because my weekdays are completely consumed by an intensive summer Arabic class and my weekends by a new relationship. I'll remove Dean, Kien and Hopper right now, but I probably won't be able to add new names for a while, sorry. Once the summer is over, I'll get back on track.

Pukka obit and that will be OoO catapulted back into the top ten! I'm working on the obituary chances whilst we speak..... A DDP & CPDP hit for me.. he did bloody well to get as far as he did... bizarrely, it's a year to the day that I first heard he was very ill. It's been a long year, but hopefully the points will eventually come to me. Might have to wait a week or two I fear, but he has just died before the British GP & that helps.... Shame though, damn good driver. Oops, I missed this one while doing the CPDP update, but I can't see an appropriate obit for the ordinary team. Is there one? If so, that'll be a second update I need to do.
