This is getting ridiculous, he's getting more coverage than Prince Andrew ever got. The DM has 30 articles about him. I guess there is just a huge amount of clickbait material (alot of which he wrote himself). They don't seem sure whether to pin him down for a 16yo (ignoring the fact it's above the age of consent), or for chasing a girlfriend round his house 15 years ago, for making risque jokes on the radio (which he was already cancelled for once before) or for the fact he would always try and get his end away when he could (not exactly unusual behaviour in one's 20s). Now Nadine Dorries writes an article telling his wife to dump him as if that woman has a right to tell anyone to do anything. The list of those keeping very quiet and hoping no-one mentions them must be long: Jonathan Ross, Noel Fielding, Noel Gallagher, Matt Morgan, most male comedians.

What a great song. What was freaky about it? I always assumed he was American, never realised he was British.

They're all coming out of the woodwork now https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/lauren-harries-claims-russell-brand-30966958 And possibly another supporter he could do without https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/danniella-westbrook-launches-defence-helpful-30966266

True, I think they were 17+, not that I followed that case very closely. Paedo gets thrown around a lot, especially in the media. Should be reserved for people like Gary Glitter who I think was after 11 and 12 year olds.

It's completely different from Epstein and Weinstein. Epstein was effectively running a huge paedo ring for international VIPs. Weinstein was raping people repeatedly. Both were clearly destined for jail. With Brand he was running around like a young puppy on heat for about a decade, probably siring 1000+ ladies, many of them basically groupies, while having a hyperactive and extreme personality, wowing them with his elaborate wordplay and fame. I don't see anything that would get him jail time in a court of law, although maybe someone will try to go down that route.

I would say his biggest concern should be his wife. He certainly behaved like a dick before he got married, and she was aware of it. I'm just having trouble with the idea that he has been all sweetness and light since that time. If he has been secretly spraying it around in the last few years, which I suspect he has because you can't just go from glut to famine overnight, then it could all fall apart for him. Having 2 daughters who can read the articles is also not good. In any case his Faustian bargain is now up for repayment and I wouldn't like to be in his shoes.

I love how the newspapers are now creating whole articles just by writing out passages from one of his books. Talk about lazy journalism. This is one (from "My Booky Wook"): He casually compared pressuring women for sex to asking his parents for a pet: “In a way, having to lobby so relentlessly to secure a pet set me in good stead in later life when seducing pious women. “‘Please take your bra off! Please?’ ‘Can I see your bottom? Oh go on?’ By puberty I had learned that nothing worth having could be easily attained and that to succeed one must be single minded. By my twenties I would relish the challenge of chaste maids and the search for the correct combination of words required to decode their moral resistance.“ Jumping through hoops, ducking questions, feigning indifference to sex. ‘I’m not bothered about sex, we can just cuddle.’ The nobstacle course, I call it.” He added: “Now if I want something – whether it’s a job or a woman – I will determinedly, resolutely, remove anything that’s in the way, until I possess the object of my desire.” Even the ex-girlfriend that said he raped her on one occasion does not seem to be considering reporting it to the police, and the other complaints seem to be more about his emotional manipulation of people. Which is shitty behaviour but not illegal. So apart from cancelling him from the mainstream in which he no longer operates, I'm not sure what else there is left. He'll stay in the papers a couple of weeks, then another story will take over. Same as Schofield etc.

He used to call loads of random people on the show, I don't think that made him his pal. And these allegations are way way lower on the scale than Savile, who was a paedo and necrophiliac amongst other things. He doesn't have a mainstream career anymore, and his online presence will probably be fine. His promiscuous behavior was clear to anyone who listened to his shows or read his books. So unless there is something big that they are saving for round 2 then I'm not convinced this story will stick around for long. There doesn't seem to be a great deal more to say.

The accusations seem to be a bit of an anticlimax. Enough to get him cancelled from mainstream TV, but he isn't on it much anyway. Nothing likely to result in legal action. The most shocking thing for me was finding out he has 6m YouTube subscribers. That's a seriously big following.

Not such a stand-up guy? Stand-up due for a long sit-down.

Don't forget that Trevor Lock, his co-presenter on the original 6 music show was dropped in around 2006 after a young lady made a complaint against him about something that happened at a party in Scotland which Russell Brand was also at. This was also addressed in My bookie wook 1 or 2 (I forget which). So I imagine whatever this complaint is it will be from that same era of 2006-7 when he was at his peak fame.

Used to love his show on 6 music in the mid-late 00s with Matt and Trevor, but it does seem in recent years he has gone down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole. Considering how open he was about shagging anything that moved around that time, and all the women queuing up for it, my guess would be: - someone who was underage, or - something cult-like involving a woman not being allowed to leave his home. Also a good opportunity to remember one of his best lines, which was about Bob Geldof: "no wonder he's such an expert on famine, he has been dining out on I Don't Like Mondays for thirty years"

Considering he was born in 1941 his career was pretty much over before he turned 40.

Damn I had Yarwood on my list a couple of years ago, but dropped him as I thought he'd go on for years in that home for showbiz people. There are a lot of decent impressionists around. Coogan and Brydon of course. Conor moore does excellent impressions of sports people on youtube.

He is just trolling us at this point and Johnny Irwin too.

Actually there is a squash dissident. Mohammed Asal, the 21yo former world no 1 has just been banned from the game for 3 months (I think it's his third such ban in 3 years). Squash has to be played in a gentlemanly way as you share the same playing space, but he does things like grabbing opponents, tripping them up at high speed, hitting the ball into their legs on purpose and in one case hitting an opponent in the head giving him a burst eardrum. Personally I hope he gets crushed like Prigozhin. Squash is being overtaken fast enough by sports like Padel, it doesn't need a fool like him to accelerate the process.

I guess that's why they call it the news

Her parents are apparently planning to move house to be closer to her prison. Her family seems a little bit Royston Vasey.

This must have been a whisky/revolver situation. We will give you guys a few weeks to transfer your wealth and wrap up your affairs, and then you all get onto a plane. The alternative is we kill you sooner or later and obliterate your families and friends as well. I can't think of any other reason they would have all got on a plane in Russia together.

I would still say there is only an 80% chance he is dead. Remember he was declared dead once before in 2019 and then reappeared again later. Need to wait for some actual evidence.

They're doing this on purpose to annoy us.
