Nobel Prize In Death

That's the one! Finally, my first DDP hit. Just a proper obit needed, but that will come. Well, the Washington Post did one, as did The New York Times, but UK based media seem to ignore his death. Come on! I want those points for a unique pick. regards, Hein -

Yes, there is: In the left part of a post by the user you rather not see, click his or her name. You'll get a menu like: Click "View member profile" You'll see his or her profile. In the left part of it, click options. You'll see another menu like this: Click "Ignore User" After this you'll get to see a list of all users you're already ignoring: Click the button labelled "Update Ignored Users", and you've added the suspect to your ignore list. Isn't that a rather personal question? regards, Hein

Or bury her down a mine.A small plot on the Falklands? They must love her out there and no risk of lots of people visiting!! I'd bury her under a firm slab of concrete and build a dance hall on top of it. regards, Hein

I think that's what it's going to take for Madame Z to shuffle off and all. It would, of course, be a Big Win for DL: all 50 dead. The bad news is that we won't be around to gloat. regards, Hein

Sadly I see you lost to VVV Venlo - a town I once changed trains in Utrecht duly obliged by losing to Excelsior (yes!), but Feyenoord blew it. Stelletje knurften. Venlo is a place best avoided. Chock-full of German drug buyerstourists, scene of the infamous Venlo Incident and to top it off: birthplace of Geert MussertWilders. regards, Hein

Well, with only two rounds left to play in the Eredivisie (the penultimate round is played this afternoon1) things are looking up. If Feyenoord manages to win both matches and if Heracles and Utrecht drop points, Feyenoord qualifies for play-offs for a place in the Europa League. I don't think it'll happen, but it would be a remarkable achievement after such a lousy start. 1 All matches played on Sunday at 2:30. This was normal for all rounds well into the 1990s. Nowadays there's hardly a day without football on the box, but the old system had its charm. regards, Hein

Today at lunch I learned that somebody put up a big screen with live footage of the wedding on it in the office cafeteria. As you may expect, there was no lack of wibbling idiotsspectators. I don't get it. This office is located in Holland, FFS. And that's not the end of it. Tomorrow is Koninginnedag, the day the Dutch celebrate their head of state's birthday. It's actually quite nice, as long as you avoid the official bits, but I suppose the idiots will be wibbling no end. Shoot the lot, come the revolution. Hein

Renowned Mountaineers, Feeling Peaky?

He must have been a clever man, if indeed he made a "40-hour ascent of Mount Everest at night", as the linked-to article claims. I'd love to learn that trick. Even an extra hour or two every night would make life much better. regards, Hein -
My thoughts exactly, but tabloids exist because many people do give a shit. There's probably something very basic in that. If I remember Frans de Waal correctly, much of Chimpanzee Politics is precisely about who bangs whom. Obviously chimps don't have distractions like the National Budget, football or Internet Fora, but I have little reason to believe people are much different with respect to their prime political interest.
