Ah, a modern way of spelling non-existent.

And without knowing that... I'm impressed.

Which One Of Thatcher`s Vegetables Will Go Next?

Dunno. Did you add a poll? I did yes but when I pressed finsih. If there is a thread though please delete this. Hmm, just checked the database: no poll. I have no way of knowing where it went. I'll let this live for a bit, it may get some use. -

Then John Christie was also innocent of the murders of mother and baby Evans when he was dropped. Fascinating. I thought Richard Christy was on the Howard Stern Radio show. It seems he has an, eh, interesting hobby.

Remember The Bismarck! Sink Pearl Harbour! Der Totale Banzai!
Magere Hein replied to Shroud's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I am, and said so to the men who did the fighting. I met US (and British, Canadian, Polish, French) WWII veterans on various occasions, formally and informally, and thanked them for their courage and effort. Most were rather apologetic about it; they did their duty; most had enjoyed the adventure and had given the gratitude of future generations little thought at the time. -
That didn't take long, including some very bad astronomy Oh well, there's a good reason they're called nutters.

Biggest 'miss(es)' by the DL Committee 2016
Magere Hein replied to Sir Creep's topic in DeathList Forum
Dammit, I suppose there will still be whiners about misses if DL would have 50 hits. Not likely to happen, I admit, but at least possible. -

A few remarks about the USA's war effort in WWII: The USA funded and supplied much of the Allied war materiel. The USA won the war against Japan, although China was a major ally. Germany was mostly beaten by the Soviet Union. The USA made a major contribution to victory in Europe, but not the largest by far. In terms of war dead, the USA got off lightly, compared to the other allies: (source: Wikipedia) A few more personal remarks: The Netherlands south of the Rhine were liberated in September 1944, mostly by US, British, Canadian and Polish forces. The Netherlands north of the Rhine were liberated in April and May 1945, mostly by Canadian, British and Polish forces. My nation is well aware of these facts. After the war the Netherlands joined NATO, knowing from experience that neutrality was not a reliable security policy. It's a sobering thought that NATO, after the breakdown of the Soviet Union, may not be able to do its thing should war again raise its head in Europe. The crisis in Ukraine gives me little hope it will. It's little use patting oneself on the back for successes of one's ancestors, or being ashamed for their failures. I count among my relatives several men who were KIA in May 1940. They went to war knowing full well they would be defeated. They went nevertheless. -
Ooh, a much more modern approach to the Demjanjuk gambit.

The beiaard (carillon) of the Grote kerk in Rotterdam. Carillons aren't my favourite musical instrument to start with, but the last few month it's got unbearable. This carillon has been automated to play a few bars of a melody before it strikes the hour or half hour. These melodies are changed a few times a year. Ordinarily those are quite innocent and no more than noise pollution; I can ignore it. However, since october 2015 the half hour strike is preceded by 12 seconds of an Abba song. I cringe every time I hear it.

Hmm, might even work. At least the system has the complexity Brits are so fond of.n
