The English Language

Your point I agree with, my pedant nature woke up from the bolded usage. Statisticians use that word for the size of an actual sample, rather than the population size, i.e. the size of the group from which the sample is taken. Ah, that was good. ETA: where in that unequality does 'many' fit? -
When will the new season start? I'd say a summer of fags and pints will take care of that.

You´re in. Good luck. I think he's just trolling. His team is an exact replica of The Unknown Man's, and it even has fucking Feek and Crowe. Indeed. Not sure there is anything in the rules that prohibits me from submitting a team identical to that of another player? None of the rules I posted forbid it, I didn't notice the problem (didn't read it all, actually) and wrote: so it looks like I painted myself in the corner here. If Deathray wants to play this team I cannot kick him out. For revenge I will not use subs on the team, though.

A big win for the Belgian police, that: they found the right address. -
*all the leftists who were dumb enough to think Francis would be some kind of liberal even though he's an 80 year old fucking priest start freaking out* I don't know about that. I do know that she was intended to become Saint Witch well before Francis became pope.

And we all chorus with 'DUH.' That´s because people with brain disorders love to play football, innit? -

The traditonal answer is: horribly. That picture makes me cross-eyed.

I know of Putnam's existence, I even read a few snippets of his work,. but I have the feeling I should have known more of it. Well, I don't, so I quess celebrity and philosopher don't go well together.

Spelling wasn't really fixed until there was near-universal literacy. People wrote things down as they heard them, or how they thought they should be spelt. People still do. Anyway, the Netherlands have had a civil registry since the early 1800s. That effectively froze the spelling of Dutch family names, but not completely. There's a branch of my own family that has a spelling variant introduced by a clerical error at the civil registry. My brother has a first name different from what my parents intended, due to a civil registrar´s bloody-mindedness. -
I 'm guessing here about the meaning of that question, but I think the best answer is: last active first. Another, equally valid, answer is: click the link labeled "(See full list)" on the front page.

Today in 1941 Dutch gobelin restorer and teacher Bernard IJzerdraat died before a German firing squad, aged 49. He was arrested on 25 November 1940 for anti-German propaganda, espionage and planning violent attacks, the first Dutchman to do so, within a week after the Dutch surrendered. 17 other resistance figthers were executed at the same place the same day.

Vitamin from Marmite, I see, a product from breweries. Now which brewery product goes by 500ml doses?

Grave problems. Hehe.

What about the slightly less exclusive 18 to 99 Club?

It's a disgrace. I recommend the stocks.

You've missed out... I probably would enjoy them but we all have our prejudices and for me it's militant vegetarions/vegans and I just can't get past that enough to actually listen to the Smiths. A militant non-meat eating variation of Captain Scarlets nemesis? Sorry, sometimes I just cannot help myself. The invasion of the militant vegetarions. Film at 11.

12 March 1914 was the day American entrepreneur and engineer George Westinghouse put the last pressure on his airways, aged 67. His design for a failsafe railway air brake bears his name to this day.

There's still some life in the list. I'm not quite ready for: "And what exactly are you famous for, mrs Smith?"
