    The First 2009 Success Poll

Susan Atkins looks like being a VERY popular pick . She will get the obit presumably...?

    Quiz Time

you thought you did poorly ????? I thought I did rather well....but I only scored 12 Bettie Page I spelt wrong . I didn't get Pollack (I must have spelt that wrong as well....) . But there was a major American bias which left me stumped in the main. Good game though....anyone know of a similar quiz...but more UK based ?

    Seen Any Good Films Lately?

Watched Mum and Dad last night on Sky Box Office whilst drinking the bubbly.... I would warmly recommend this "feel good" movie . It has everything.....laughter , tears , romance....

    Football

I take it back grobler and admire your fortitude of being a 'soft southerner' oop noorth! No offence taken of course..... you've reminded me of a very sad day...I bet we can all remember what we were doing that afternoon(15/4/89) . I was at Elland Road (long story...dont ask...) . There was an announcement at half time that there had been an "incident"...it was only at about 5:00 whilst listening to the car radio did the full horror dawn.... Anyway.....this isn't the place for morbid thoughts eh ?

    Football

At least is wasn't psychotic enough to get him sectioned, so no white jacket required... These footballers, always the same, it's just a shame, that's all... I'm not sure its "these footballers"...its more a case of "these Liverpudlians" .....all a bunch of hooligans if you ask me I notice you're from Sheffield, now that is a black irony, considering what happened in 1989... now thats a little below the belt ......I may currently live in Sheffield , but I am a Cockney through and through....and hence feel smug to be so perfect !

    American Football Players

I agree with Grobler. I also like the Colts. I say Colts-Eagles with Colts winning. Maybe . But at least after last weekend I can wear my Brian Dawkins practice jersey (it was cheaper on ebay than a replica jersey !) with pride .

    2009 DDP

Thats pretty much what I did.....so my 15-16 unique picks (which is what I hoped for) , will drop to 4 or 5 ...

    American Football Players

Dont underestimate the Eagles . If Westbrook is on fire they can (will...) beat anyone...

    World's Oldest

Shouldn't our Henry have his own thread ? Someone will no doubt point out that he has....and I just simply cant work the "search" facility properly....

    World's Oldest

All rather exciting . Makes a change to have someone to cheer on in this way . I shall refrain from picking Henry in any future Pools ...we should all do the same

    Sir Bobby Robson

Really? You don't think he'll die in the next 72 hours? Oh thanks, genius. Well...I would never claim to be a genius ...however dear Guest , there has been a lot of speculation as to Bobbys chances re a 2008 hit . I was simply offering an opinion.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2009

Wendy Richards is now reportedly not dying. In fact a lot of people think it was all a big put on to get publicity for her wedding. Yes she has cancer and yes it may well have re-occured but she is nowhere near the 'few weeks to live' status given in November. (Bet she'll die tomorrow now just to prove me wrong.) I think Wendy and Liz will still be around for a while . The skill is picking them in the correct year . Not sure 2009 is thar year . Tony H however is a different ball game....

    Sir Bobby Robson

the point is though...he didnt look too bad . Forget a 2008 hit....NO CHANCE . Poss for 2009 ??? Def....But he is still far from a shoe - in . God luck to him....A top Manager !...I hope he knocks around for a few years yet

    Norman Wisdom

He'll certainly survive 2009 as he's in my DDP team . No smoke without fire I say......take him off 2009 lists....

    Sir Bobby Robson

But hopefully not for a while. I dont think he looked too bad at half time when the cameras were on him . Looked poorly , for sure , but certainly not a 2008 hit . Good 2009 chance obviously....
  21. well , thank you my friend.....I thought no-one cared.....

    Margaret Thatcher

I wonder what she'd be like spread on toast. Quite gristley, I would imagine. But a jar of Marmite might do a better job at running the country. I really have to take issue with this . Love her or hate her I can go along with.....but there can be no doubt in my mind that she was better than a jar of Marmite .

    The Fourth 2008 Success Poll

I voted for poor ol'Eric Sykes . Its difficult though....I think this years list has got too many candidates that no-one would really want to pop.....there should be more murderers/bad actors/idiots/crazed religious fanatics etc on the list I reckon....

    Margaret Thatcher

I may be missing something, but didn't Argentina start the war? What was Maggie expected to do - sit at home twiddling her thumbs and send over some blankets in case the Argies got cold at night on South Georgia? History will be written thus.... "The greatest English woman who graced the Earth ....... "Changed the landscape of Britain for the better... "Kicked Scargills butt.... I know there were a few problems......but change is difficult . Even now , Twat face Brown enjoys the legacy that Maggies Government left...
