Still nothing yet to confirm Lancaster. However, one of the queries between Bailey and Lancaster was James Kelly, ex-Carlisle (and on Tottenham books). He seems to be well remembered in Drogheda, where I suspect he went back to. A date of death eludes us for now, but he IS definitely dead. Given that this letter was written nearly 25 years ago, Kelly has been dead a long time. https://www.independent.ie/news/droghedean-writes-about-a-soccer-team-of-the-40s/27122560.html Talking of Kellys, I've also decided to remove Mike Kelly from the living pile. There's been no recent news about him and he played a handful of games for Crewe. I suspect he moved back to Ireland and again, probably died some years ago. Of course, I'd like it all neat and tidy, but I also have to be realistic. -
Confirmation Augie Pabst has died. He was a good guy, RIP

Word coming through the book of Face that Augie Pabst, the legendary US sportscar driver has died at the age of 90. Nothing to confirm yet, but two people who have posted it are pretty solid sources normally.

Portsmouth legend Alan Knight has advanced prostate cancer. BBC link

Yep, I'm not at all convinced about any of those in-between actually being alive. Nothing about Lancaster yet, but no reason to disbelieve it. -
The grand Old Duke of Kent

As the OP here, I'd have to agree. The fact he is still doing Royal engagements too means he is not the lock I thought he was once and even continued to think he would be even just a couple of years ago. Katherine looks alright for her age but I think she is an outside shout for DL2025. PS Their house reminds me of The Big Breakfast house. Maybe that's where Zig and Zag live? -
Julian Glover yesterday at a comic con. Has a walking stick but otherwise active.

I'm not necessarily advocating it, but if you use Yahoo, do you use MSN? That would've covered at least 3 hits this year I think
-
It was his daughters wedding. Neither he nor Zanardi will be seen in public again.

Not mentioned anywhere is that for all of those who picked Carter in the DDP, we've just lost at least a point. Thanks for nothing, Jimster....
-
Realistically, I'm going to need a combination of Kamolvisit and Patrick Murray to win, considering the joint picks of the top 4. That, or a Daniel o'Donnell weepie of a 'tough year' to the Daily Mail where he mentions K Cavanagh....

On the master list of "minor supporting roles" I've found another that has died Tamara Fowler (Mr Krueger's Christmas), aged 84 in April this year - https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/deseretnews/name/tamara-adams-obituary?id=55102200
-
Off that list, yes, but because they're more famous (or.covered elsewhere) I didn't ask anyone to check the following but these are also alive: Caren Marsh Doll Pete Murray Lee Grant Peggy Dow Lisa Lu Garry Watson Marion Ross Vera Miles A dwindling list for sure though, McDermotts death means just 10 left pre-1930

Two deaths off the list in 2024 on here that I haven't seen posted here: Jack McDermott - https://www.landmarkfuneralhome.com/john-jack-mcdermott Robert Banas - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13690469/Bobby-Banas-dead-90-Dancer-West-Story-Mary-Poppins.html

Hugman's has confirmed 4 deaths: Neil Langman (2021) Jimmy Belcher (2023) Gerry Smyth (2013) Ken Brown (2023) - Also on Coventry City Former Players webpage. So all 4 have been removed off the list on the front page. -
Glad you've found the balance between carrying on the good work and still having a life.
-
I can confirm this is true. Give it 24 hours for a QO.
-
He'll get a BBC SPOTY QO, I'm sure.

Wow, a 1982 player dying in his late 70's. I feel awfully old right now.

Tibor Szabo, who sounds like one of those foreign imports that had an unsuccessful fling with lower football league clubs, but was actually a Yorkshireman through and through died last week, after collapsing when cycling. Played 13 times for Bradford City and then had spells in the North West for Macclesfield, Accrington and Morecambe, amongst others. https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/24560940.ex-bantams-player-tibor-szabo-well-known-local-game/

1959 World Junior chess champion Carlos Bielicki apparently died on the 9th September., according to this Uzbek chess player/fan. Make of it what you will

He was a lock on my DDP 2025 team for some while after seeing his name alongside Allan Finnegan in one of those podcasts about God and cancer. Finnegans treatment seems to have bought him some time, he's not the lock for 2025 he originally seemed.to be. Legg seemed like a good guy, sorry to hear this.
-
He has (was over the weekend) been released from hospital to die at his home.

Liked this from his Wiki about his 2018 World Cup: However, his performance in the World Cup was considered to be a deep disappointment, due to his incapability and his silence in important moments Not selected in 2022 due to doping allegations...

Also a racing driver, who competed in single-seaters for a while, in a more competitive series than his old man did.
