@Ulitzer95, thank you so, so much for this. I always thought I was pretty good at researching, but you have put me to shame. This is such a help. I appreciate it greatly. Now other people can utilise your skills on this topic. George Price - alive in 2017 - https://www.winsfordguardian.co.uk/news/15561666.care-home-residents-make-memory-tree-improve-wellbeing/ which is why Hugman is wrong. I suspect he might have died in 2020 as one of the many care home casualties, but we'll have to see when the GRO comes out. Definitely wasn't in 2018 or 2019 GRO. I'll cross-reference all this into the old footy players thread for Michael F.

    Hospitalised!

Well known twitter personality Cecilia Bartholemew has been in hospital with a heart attack. The entire twitter community has responded appropriately. CB was of course a close friend of the late Prince Phillip and announced the death of her even closer friend Dame Cheryl Gillan two days before Dame Cheryl actually died. Lol

Updated again due to @Ulitzer95 brilliant work. When this started, I think my list was around 200 - it's now around 115. But if all 115 are alive, that's great as we can celebrate their longevitity. In summary(for Michael F or anyone else) the dead are: David Lindsay 29.6.1919, Cambuslang d. 10 Apr 1987, East Kilbride David Gray d. 1983, Halifax, Yorkshire Geoff Hill d. 2017 Fred Sharpe d. 9th April 2020, Hull, Yorkshire James Taylor b. 7.4.1925, Warrington d. 15 Aug 2000, Port Elizabeth, South Africa Eric Searle d. 2015, Surrey Fred Smith b. 27 May 1926, Draycott d. 6 Dec 2017, Woollongong, New South Wales, Australia Alf Horne @Ulitzer95 - definitely the same man as I've found something to say he moved to Watford. So died April 1967, Watford, Hertfordshire

Crumbs, it's so sad when you find out someone who might still be alive died half a century ago. Ill keep open mind on Bill Anderson due to the commoness of the name but I'll make a note. Thanks again for all your help

The grand Old Duke of Kent

This is from 2018. Looks rough then but I'm sure he's thinner now. Masks are a pain in the bum for comparison. Read somewhere that now Prince P is gone, DoK is oldest male UK royal still alive.

Michael, did you not see the post about Gray? Possibly died in Halifax in 1983. But you've said he's dead and hes alive in the same post?

I'm trying to contact the Bradford City historian to see what they know. There's 6 ex Bradford b. 1930. Away? In a pandemic?

Crossposting from Deathlist Detective work and removed Sharpe and Lindsay from list on the first page. Keeping Taylor and Gray on for now but strongly suspect they are gone.

Sorted - it is our man. https://www.pressreader.com/uk/hull-daily-mail/20200420/page/41 Frederick Arthur Sharpe. There cannot be two FAS's born in the same month in the same place who died at the same age. To be fair, he played just one game for Wrexham in 1948 and that's it so - yes he played league football but only one game. @michaelf, see the research on this one and Gray and Taylor.

Hi, I'm tempted to agree with you on this one. The only thing that stops me slightly is that Gray played 242 times for Bradford City. I would've expected the A-Z of Bradford City, published in 1988, to have mentioned someone who played so much for them had died five years previously. As I've got to contact someone re. Jack Taylor, I'll ask them about David Gray. A new Who's Who 1946-1980 came out in 2019 but it's quite pricy. If it were a tenner, I'd buy it. Iv'e asked the question.

Attending Prince P's funeral so we can do form watching. If I've read the guest list correctly, Duchess of Kent is NOT going.

@Ulitzer95, this is wonderful, thank you. I'll do some enquiries my end first and let you know. The clubs tend to be pretty dire with these things. Last I heard, 2020s details are coming out before end of May. 'springtime' was the result of the last query. Ill be straight on GRO 2020 as soon as possible

I did wonder whether to give you the younger names. I'm glad I did. Sad news (albeit he's been dead 22 years) as it's always sad to see the younger actors die. I hugely appreciate this and it's also helped me appreciate some of the names on there that didn't mean as much to me but now I know they're more significant.
