You missed Nina Myskow (1946-) and Katie Boyle (1926-2018) who are definitely in this and appear in the credits. Myskow makes it 20.

Edit: on closer inspection, Eric Knowles (1953-), Kate O'Mara (1939-2014) and according to the credits, Phillippa Forrester (1968-) are also in it.

There's a lady between Little and Large that's not been identified yet.

Also who are the two with Sharp, Holmes and Hewer?

Also on there is the late Felix Bowness and Pat Coombs.

To be honest I was surprised he'd still been alive.

Likewise. I actually remember him most from the children's television show he did, and was always pleased to see him on the television thereafter, but I must admit I thought he'd died a good 10-15 years ago. RIP

Didn't recognise him at all - blimey.

Also, that was a fucking ordeal getting that photo to go on the forum. Facebook, DL and my phone having a huge falling out - then the sodding laptop wanted to do a fucking update and crashed.

Thank you, I had to give up, even though I followed it all to the letter. He didn't appear to go on the pitch for applause, but John Still (next to Pleat in this picture) did.

Sky Sports just mentioned that three of the Spurs 1961 double winning team - Terry Medwin (b. 1932), Terry Dyson (b. 1934) and Cliff Jones (b. 1935) - are at their game at Leeds today as guests of honour.

Also spotted David Pleat (b. 1945) in the crowd who looks the same as ever.

Pleat looks very frail here, older than his 78 years.

I can't upload the photo for some reason, so here's the link

You missed out his best club:P

Ex-Reading as well and I remember him well as a classy winger, decent crosser of the ball.

Worryingly, the statement didn't include a quote from Bowen directly, just his family which makes me fear he's more likely to be a quicker death than some of the 5/6 years on average for others.

Really sad, but these MND cases are only likely to increase.

Lengthy interview. Based on this, you'd be looking at DDP 2028, I'd say.

  6. Fontaine's death is significant in World Cup terms as it removes the oldest top scorer and the only one living pre-1974. 1930-1970 are all dead (as is 1982) so Gregorz Lato (1974) is now the oldest.

Also, although 3 squad players remain, none of the French team that played in 1958 are still alive. They were doing remarkably well until relatively recently, but they've all passed on now.

  7. Borgudd got QO's from the Sun and The Star https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/f1/slim-borgudd-abba-f1-29303275.amp

There's definitely more widespread coverage for racing driver deaths, albeit the last four deaths all raced in the 1980s. The real test to QOs will be if one of the elder midfield or backmarker runners gets a QO when they go.

That said, Jabouille and Tambay were race winners and Borgudd had the ABBA link.

  8. Former session drummer for ABBA, who was later sponsored by them during his motor racing career, Slim Borgudd, has died.

EDIT - English language obits will come through, but here's one with a nice photo of the ABBA link - https://f1i.autojournal.fr/infos/deces-de-slim-borgudd-pilote-et-musicien/

Ex ABBA drummer and 1980's racer Slim Borgudd has dementia. Has gone downhill quickly since the last time I was in contact with him in Spring.

Slim Borgudd died today. Its on Facebook but will get a better link in due course. And here's at least one - https://f1i.autojournal.fr/infos/deces-de-slim-borgudd-pilote-et-musicien/

I think there's still a good month window for him in Guardian's "Other Lives" tbh. Nowhere near writing him off as a scorer yet.

I fully expect an obit on the 29th December which starts with..

"My former colleague Mark Stokes, who died in January" writes S.Cooley, "was a brilliant...."

Anton Sukup does not work in the industry. He's just a normal fan who runs a FB page. The guy who came up with the dates is a different matter, but not all his credentials check out .

I DO work in the historic motor racing industry and not one noted researcher into old Grand Prix drivers have adopted these dates.... yet.

Copies of letters or correspondence or anything to use as some kind of proof have not materialised when asked.

By all means put it on Wiki and count it for Scavenger Hunt but the belief is Seiffert is probably still alive.

You know me, I hate having loads of old footballers as alive when I know they're not, but there needs to be "something". At the moment, it's missing. What we really need is some kind of German death index.

For what it's worth, this is the most credible death report of Seifert I've seen (Note the spelling of his name has changed a few times) but we're not wholly convinced. For example, Old Racing Cars, listed as a source on Wikipedia, hasn't adopted the dates. Nor Stats F1 and they're normally VERY quick, nor FORIX, nor Motorsport Magazine. I think we just need that scrap of extra info.

I'll be interested to see who updates their websites as a result of Wiki going for Sukup as a credible source.

Finally, there looks to be some more concrete evidence. I'm waiting for a copy of the letter (on its way to me) which says the below:

Herr Schmergel received a letter, in which he was advised by Seiffert’s daughter.  It reads: ‘Unfortunately, I have to inform you that Mr. Seiffert passed away last year on 11 November 2020’.

There's no other online backup, but at least there's now an informant and some kind of meat to go on the bones of one website edit.
