News hasn't been fully released yet but I have it on very, very good authority (his son Jamie) that Gerry Anderson died earlier today. And while I was typing this, here's confirmation: http://www.jamieanderson.me.uk/gerry-anderson-has-died/

The oldest rock n roll drummer,Ed Cassidy from Spirit, has died aged 89. Shame. 'Twelve Dreams Of Doctor Sardonicus' is a classic and well worth a listen.
-
Ted 'The Count' Hankey has had a stroke and is out for the foreseeable.

End of days. That's what it is. End of days. The Mayans were right.
-
Castro? I can't think of anyone else. There's only one Clive Dunn.

Jo from Fuzzbox sadly now Rockin' With Grim Reaper after a short illness. Always liked Fuzzbox, though wasn't keen on their sell-out Bananarama/iffy-Kim Wilde era. Check out their Peel Session acapella version of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' - utter brilliance.

Richard Keys and Lorraine Kelly have both Tweeted that former TV-am / Yorkshire Television man Mike Morris died in his sleep last night after a short illness, aged 65. Nice chap. He let me have the last cheese and onion sandwich left once when I was at YTV and I liked him ever since after that.

She's very small so you never know, perhaps Glitter mistook her for a child?

If anyone would like to buy me a ticket (gratis obviously as I'm currently worthless dolescum once again) I shall report on his health and whether he looks ready to kick the bucket anytime soon. Not particularly a fan but he puts on a good show, and of course I will be doing francophile deadpoolers a favour.

BBC announcing he's died
-
No, she's not dead! However, she's only just found out about her missing leg.
-
No other confirmation as yet but comes from what I would think is a reliable source - Mike Smith (of DJ and Sarah Greene hubby fame) has announced on Twitter that former TOTP producer Michael Hurll has died. EDIT: MSN are reporting his death, but only via tweets stemming from Mike Smith's original. Looks like he had Parkinson's Disease btw, though don't know if that is what killed him.

No loss. Whilst I don't expect drug traffickers to be all sweetness and light, if you've seen the films Cocaine Cowboys and Cocaine Cowboys II you'll know she was a particularly nasty piece of work.

I think this is the right thread Rev Moon dies aged 92 (AP obit) The Moonies were all the rage in the Eighties but you don't really hear of them much these days, and now their leader has died I guess we'll hear about them even less. Still, it means points for me

Agreed. I'm just comparing the news coverage so far - Whitney's death was wall to wall for over 24 hours, Armstrong's death the main headline news but not the only thing happening in the world. Of course, Whitney's death was more surprising (well, that's debatable but anyway...) and was an unnatural death and so ripe for endless speculation, whereas Armstrong's demise is a natural one - an old man dies following complications of heart surgery. I'm wondering who could possibly top Neil Armstrong as the year's biggest death, barring unnatural demises. The Queen is probably the only person; Paul McCartney at a push. Even Thatcher and Mandela pale into insignificance in my opinion.

Yeah, various media org's tweeting it now There's your Big Death of the Year. Sad news Really sad news. How amazing to walk on the moon at all, let alone be the first. And that I was only six weeks old when Man last stepped foot there is such a shame, and shameful. A true pioneer, legend, hero. RIP. While Armstrong's name will be remembered for a long, long time, I'm not sure it's this year's big death. Well, in my opinion it is but at least when it comes to the end of the year round-ups I suspect Whitney Houston will get more minutes/column inches. Unfortunately.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Been announced on Irish television that Maeve Binchy has died -
It's very sad news indeed, but a very cheeky dig from you about Bratford And the end could be nigh for my beloved rugby league team any time soon I'm from Bratfud myself. One of my English teachers was in the same class as Mary Tamm at grammar school - I've probably told the tale on here already but willing to repeat. It's not that interesting to be honest though.
-
Another person I've met/worked with gone. Very nice bloke, very funny, had time for everyone. RIP
-
What rotten news. Proof that some lovely things do come from Bradford. RIP
-
Sad news about Caroline John - Liz Shaw was one of the best Who assistants. Seeing as it seems she died in the first week of June, I'm surprised the news has only just broken.

It took long enough for Megrahi to finally shuffle off this mortal coil. Robin Gibb took longer than most of us thought too. And look at Zsa Zsa - she's still hanging on. Being on my DDP list definitely grants people, if not eternal life as even the Queen Mum (Gawd Bless 'er) and the Pope eventually died, then certainly an extra couple of months.
-
Of course Clive James won't die - he's on my personal DDP team so has been granted eternal life...

Record producer and husband of Luv' member José, Will Hoebee has died of cancer aged 64. Here's what is probably his wife's finest moment (and from back in the day when Patty Brard still had most of her original face)

Gotta be Zsa Zsa, though it'll probably be someone who isn't on my list.
