It said on the World Service he was too frail to attend.

You can get them in Lidl as well. Very tasty and even more yummy if you pour toffee over them while warm.

Six feet under the moon of love... Apropos of nothing - I used to fancy Dave Bartram when I was a kid. He's still nice now, though I prefer him with his Seventies long hair.

Doctor Who-related people are dropping like flies this year RIP Zippy
-
Andrew Gold has apparently passed away from a heart attack. Doesn't seem to be an obit as yet however.
-
Actress Miriam Karlin, best known as Paddy from The Rag Trade and later Jewish ghost Yetta Feldman in So Haunt Me, has died according to The Stage. Sad news

Like bollocks she's a size 8 in that picture. And yeah, boyfriend woes, "I luv me kids" protestations, pics of her looking dishevelled and weight gain by September. -
Serious rumours going round that Gil Scott-Heron has popped his clogs. I'm off to bed now so there'll probably be confirmations and obits galore when I get up tomorrow.
-
That's sad news as she was very much a TV staple when I was growing up. Didn't realise she was quite that old to be honest.
-
Diana In Heaven (yes, I know...) on Twitter says she's seen him in Heaven but there doesn't seem to be any other confirmation that he's departed these pastures. This must be the lamest non-confirmation I've ever posted

Kathy Kirby wasn't impressed by France Gall's win and apparently went up to her and smacked her across the face. So a bit of a bad loser, our Kathy...
-
That's sad news about Bill Hunter. Of course, he was in Prisoner Cell Block H as well, playing George Lucas (not that one), a nasty piece of work who had a fling with my forum namesake and strung her along.

Sean Dunphy, who represented Ireland in 1967 with , has died. He'd been in good health recently so his passing has come as a bit of a shock to Ireland. Lovely voice, but he was never going to win against 'Puppet On A String'.
-
Actor Terence Longdon died on 23 April aged 88 after a short illness. He's probably best remembered for his appearances in the early Carry On films.
-
The Duchess Of Kent is looking a bit doddery to put it mildly. Might be one to watch in the next few years.

Germ Free Adolescents is the greatest punk album of all, bar none. Every song (and the singles) an absolute classic in its own right, and the lyrics still so relevant 30+ years later. RIP Poly - a true original
-
So sad that we've lost The Brig and Sarah Jane in a matter of weeks. Who next? Tom?
-
Not entirely confirmed yet, though have it on good authority, it seems that Elisabeth Sladen has died. Terribly sad and shocking news if true

A bit similar to this thread - perhaps they should be amalgamated into one 'foreign/European entertainers? Anyway, someone that I don't think has been mentioned yet is Juliette Gréco. Born 1927. Still active but getting on a bit now, and she's not one of the regulars on 'Vivement Dimanche' so I can't comment on her health. Boring fact: I saw Michel Fugain at a Véronique Sanson concert at the Olympia in 2005. He looked in fine fettle then and, six years on, is still very fit so I can't see him going anywhere soon. One to keep an eye on is Renaud. Serious alcohol problems in the past, and various relapses since sobering up in the early 00s. Has taken quite a toll on him (and his voice) and last time I saw him he looked somewhat shambolic. -
Useless factoid: Last celeb to be mentioned in Madonna's 'Vogue' to still be alive.

News of her death is currently trending on Twitter. Died in her sleep last night apparently. The news seems to have come from Neil Gaiman.

"They think it's all over, it is now" for Kenneth Wolstenholme nine years ago today. Also, Rhoda's mum and the director of the classic Village People film 'Can't Stop The Music' Nancy Walker, today 19 years ago. -

He's touring again next year so I presume feels in fine health at the moment following his scare the other year. As for youngish deaths that caused ripples, how about Marie Trintignant?
