Hard to describe, but I was in rush hour traffic driving through the lowest road (underpass) in one of those cloverleaf things where highways meet, 5:15pm. Some beat up pickup truck comes falling from the sky about 30' above and lands on the car next to and behind me, killing the driver instantly. (The pickup truck somehow missed an exit, hit the grass strip and slid at 60mph from up above, again too difficult to explain. I missed being killed by literally 1.5 seconds, and went back through my day to thank God that every action I did I didn't pause for 1.5 seconds and put myself where that car was that got squashed. I saw the entire thing in my side/rearview mirror. Ended up, coincidentally, that the guy that got killed was 29, had a young child, and was the friend of one of my ex-wife's co-workers. He was despondent the next day and Mrs. Lady Creep asked what was wrong, he said his buddy got squashed and she said 'Sir Creep was in the next car and saw the whole thing'. SirC FTFY

Bloody hell! When I first looked at it I thought it was an old friend of mine - Councillor Robin Wood from Derby City Council. He was in a channel 4 documentary Secrets of the Sauna the other week telling everyone what he gets up to in a gay bath house. He was mayor of Derby in 1993 and prior to that the "mayoress" when his then partner was mayor in 1977.

GW, Happy Anniversary Of Your Birthday
Cat O'Falk replied to Tempus Fugit's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Happy Birthday Mr Whitehouse! Here's to the next 50. -
I can't find the video of a public information film from 60s/70s about hard hats but here's the commentary: Sir Isaac Newton told us why An apple falls down from the sky And from this fact, it's very plain, All other objects do the same A brick, a bolt, a bar, a cup, Invariably fall down, not up And every common working tool Is governed by the self-same rule So when you handle tools up there, Let your watchword be, "Take Care!" If at work, you drop a spanner, It travels in a downward manner At work, a fifth of accidents or more, Illustrate old Newton's law But one thing he forgot to add, The damage won't be half as bad If you are wearing proper clothes, Especially on your head and toes These hats and shoes are there to save The wearer from an early grave So best feet forward and take care About the kind of shoes you wear It's better to be sure, than dead, So get a hat and keep your head Don't think to go without is brave; The effects of gravity can be grave.

Why were you wearing a helmet in a lorry? I was playing at being The Stig.

Motorcyclist killed after pheasant flew into his helmet causing him to lose control. A similar thing happened to me in Scotland in the 90s, however, I was in a lorry and thereby lived; alas, the bird didn't.

If Glen Campbell could be coerced into doing one last gig, you could buy a ticket for that.

Certainly looks like it, although police haven't given 100% confirmation yet. Now confirmed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-35823444

Spring is just around the corner and the peregrins that nest at Nottingham Trent University and Derby Cathedral have once again taken up residence. I love to watch these every year. The Nottingham falcon laid her first egg today. Derby Peregrine Webcam Nottingham Peregrine Webcam -
Janos Prohaska died on this day in 1974 aged 54. He usually played the roles of animals or monsters including several from Star Trek TOS but is probably best remembered for playing Cookie Bear in the Andy Williams Show.

just imagine the meal hes going to get as his last one? going to cost a fortune! everythings bigger in texas right? even the steak The steak size in Texas I can confirm as being lunatic compared at least with the UK. There was a 'cowgirl' steak of 20oz, and a 'cowboy' steak of 28oz on a menu in one establishment. Who needs the death penalty when you can be served a cholesterol heart attack in one sitting? Texas no longer gives a special last meal. The condemned gets the same as all the other inmates on that day.
