Ronnie, please tell me you didn't spend the whole of Valentine's evening alone in front of the computer, posting snidey little remarks aimed at people you don't even know? As I said almost 2 years ago when you first started banging on about the DDP definition of "famous", I'm open to suggestions. I'm still waiting...either come up with something better or change the record.

Now THAT is a true nut job. Absolutely! And I love this quote: You've got to wonder how mad he must've been before this improvement.

Seems to me that 36 is none too shabby a score for such a short rant - good effort, Unregistered Guest! So, Mr Hein, what's the highest score recorded so far? And has there been a single ranter who's managed not to mix up "your" and "you're"? -
Talking of football, how about Sol Campbell as an outside bet? Suffering from depression, and has mysteriously disappeared due to "a big worry in his private life". Very strange...

Certainly have, Jackie! Just collecting the last few celeb photos together, and then we're all straight, I think. -

They better start reading out his will now then. It'll take 'em till March to get through his name. -

Excellent! We've had people on here before, claiming that celebs are aware of being discussed on DL.net, but I do believe that's the first actual proof we've seen.

Welcome, and congratulations on taking the trouble to look around before posting, instead of just launching straight into a kneejerk rant, as so many others do. As for AnA, I seriously hope that English isn't your first language, because if it is, your future career prospects aren't looking too good, I'm afraid. Big Mac and fries, please.

Nothing so glamorous, I'm afraid - Bolan died in a Mini. And let's not forget good old Rod Hull and his TV aerial tomfoolery

OK, let's see how our new friend LRB's effort scores on the DeathList Rant Index: [1] The post states that the members of DeathList.net are sick. [1] If the post is written in a topic about a person, living or dead, the post states or infers that the subject is above criticism. [1] The post states or infers that the poster is morally or intellectually superior to the members of DeathList.net. [1] The post contains one or more statements that are widely agreed on to be false.* * Two qualifying statements here: (i) "There's a clear line between irreverent and disrespectful"...nope, it's a wholly subjective distinction; don't assume everyone shares your narrow-minded view on it. (ii) "Mary never harmed anyone"...have you heard "Leaving On A Jet Plane"? I make that a paltry 16/100. D-, must try harder.

Bill Skate has indeed gone - awaiting UK obit. I'll correct the errors with Keeshan, Lemmon, Carr and Landau ASAP, and thanks for pointing those out - any others that anyone's spotted?

Morning all, and Happy New Year! Long time since I've been on here. Just to let you know that the DDP2006 website's almost ready - I'm just doing some tidying-up of the data, then I'll generate and upload the '06 pages, Siegfried will close off the '05 competition, and we're away. It's been a real effort this time - 233 teams have entered and chosen 951 different celebs - so please bear with us for another day or so. As for my team: 1) Muhammad Ali 2) Henry Allingham 3) Jeremy Beadle 4) Ronnie Biggs 5) Michael Carroll 6) Ross Davidson 7) Maria Esther de Capovilla 8) Gerald Ford 9) Rev Billy Graham 10) Brian Harvey 11) Stephen Hawking 12) Norman Kember 13) Joe Longthorne 14) George Melly 15) Emiliano Mercado del Toro 16) Tammy Faye Messner 17) Ruby Muhammad 18) Harold Pinter 19) Lou Rawls (JOKER) 20) Sir Cyril Smith Some random thoughts on these: Carroll - Drugs overdose, or even suicide when it finally dawns on the moron that he's spunked all his cash away? Melly - I read an interview a few weeks ago in which he said something along the lines of "Death is knocking loudly at my door". C'mon, George, 12 months should be long enough for you to shuffle over there and open it! Smith - I could've sworn he died years ago, but apparently not - still with us at 77, albeit not quite as lardy as he used to be. That's all for now, but I'll try to be a more regular visitor to DL this year! - RK

Ending accusations of cherry-picking

Blimey, I go away for a couple of days and it all kicks off! OK, my mistake about the single/dual identity thing - happy to say I'm not an IT nerd, so I bow to others' superior knowledge of IP addresses and proxies and all that. But I notice you haven't addressed my accusation of negativity. You in particular, OMJ - you never start new topics, but you often wade into other people's and make some totally unnecessary and unfunny comment. I mean, what's to be gained from replying "Yawn" to someone's post? If it doesn't interest you, just move on. A couple of other recent examples that spring to mind: Dirty Den thread QEII thread So how about proving that you do have some hidden originality and humour somewhere within you after all? Start a thread on a (preferably death-related...) subject that interests you, and we'll all see what we think of it. -

Terminator/One Man Jury, a couple of points: 1) It hasn't gone unnoticed that you're the same person, posting from the same IP address, often switching from one ID to the other within minutes. Heck, you even argue with yourself sometimes. 2) Can you tell the OMJ side of your split personality to be a little less negative? This is meant to be a light-hearted forum. Thanks. -
What, you mean no-one takes the piss out of his name?

Nous avons perdu Frank Perdue? Nah, I hadn't heard of him either, come to think of it.

Stop press...JP2 has just sat up in his deathbed and done his famous impression of Columbo one last time...

Why ask the same question twice in the space of a minute? Why ask it on a thread about PW Botha? Why not just use the Search function? Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near?

Things to do while waiting for Death ... 2005
Rude Kid replied to The Yeti's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Oddly addictive little game... ...but I can't see any tactics other than making sure the first few tiles will connect up. My high score to beat: 1844. -
...Mount Rushmore/Damien/etc... Hey Schizophrenia Boy, if you're sad enough to spend your day wandering from one Internet cafe to another just so that you can post drivel on here, then go for it. But work out how long it takes you to do so, and remember that the mods can delete your messages in about 2 seconds flat. The IP addresses may vary, but your insane ramblings are very easy to spot. Your call.

It's "zany" (read: tedious and deeply unfunny) Bernie Clifton.

Wouldn't it be ironic if none of the Beatles make it to 64?
