He quit smoking a pack a day in 2014 and was diagnosed with COPD in 2016 .

The thread seems contradictory.He says "tumours" were found but then says he had lesions and a single cancerous tumour in the right lung. Assuming he means the lesions or tumours were not cancerous but he was initially told rthey were or probably were.He is 65 now.Doesn`t sound like he will make 70.

To my wonderful surprise these lesions were not cancerous but the scan did find an EARLY stage cancerous tumour in my lung . This has since been removed and I am tweeting now , which would not be the case if I hadn't.

I looked after a lady when I did homecare on the side when a student who was 110. Quit the job when she was 109 but know she did make 110 before she died.I also visited 2 ladies who made it to 102 and 2 who made it to 100 in the same job. I won`t say the name though due to confidentiality but yeah that is the oldest person I have ever seen. My neighbours father (born on the same day as Herman Wouk) lived to 105.Saw him a couple of times at garden parties around theirs. Then there was my Grandparents old friend from where they first lived who lived to 100.I was at the Birthday do for that.

Difficult to say.The cancer had already spread from the colon to the brain months ago so he could well have had metastatic lung cancer as well causing the breathing issues.Could well have been Covid that was the final straw though or he could have been asymptomatic.Lile you said though the other issue with the 28 day rule especially with Omicron is that most people have mild symptomns but when you get over 100000 cases a day (lower now buyt going back 3 to 4 weeks ago) some are bound to die from something else during that time.Especially with someone on palliative Carr for end stage cancer. Reminds me of Robin Gibb and Christopher Hitchens.Died from pneumonia ( well Gibb was organ failure from pneumonia) but that was a direct complication of cancer. Similarly with dementia most people die from pneumonia as a complication.Also when people died from Aids it was an infection that would have been the final inevitable nail in the coffin but was always reported as Aids as that was the terminal condition that lead to their death directly.
