i used to have to buy rats for lucille, my daughter's snake.

Another animal I think it might be quite tasty. Along with bat, as discussed earlier in the deadchat.

a word or two of advice - NEVER put a frozen rat in the microwave to thaw.

BTW - 'round these parts, squirrel would not qualify as roadkill. If you don't feel the 'bump' as your SUV drives over it, it doesn't count. We're talkin' bear, deer, maybe fox and coyote, etc.
