Guest simon.sp Posted August 21, 2004 Would it be possible in the future to add a feature that sends a text message to mobile phones with news flashes of celebrity deaths? I think a small fee per message would be in order.
Grim Reaper 186 Posted August 21, 2004 I dont think youre in the majority there Simon - I would think almost nobody is prepared to pay a small fee for a text message facility. Its pretty easy to do but I dont think there is any demand for it.
The Yeti 14 Posted August 22, 2004 Are you really that desperate to know when someone famous has pegged it ? The first most people know would be on the radio anyway - including the DL.
Stayin Alive 26 Posted August 22, 2004 Yep, can't see anyone really wanting that service. The only people that would probably want it are those in the media and I guess they would be able to get a flash easily enough from their own feeds - Reuters etc. For those that are desparate to play with their phones, there is always the free Deathlist WAP service
Rude Kid 3 Posted August 22, 2004 If you sign up to www.celebritydeathbeeper.com, you get an email every time someone (very vaguely) famous (in America) dies.
Stayin Alive 26 Posted August 22, 2004 If we were to do anything, it would have to be a (free) email. But that's it, I think. I don't even think there is enough demand for that. Where do you draw the line? The current death list? The UK? We have thought about an email for just the names on the list, for forum members. Anyone interested in that?
