Typhoid Harry 23 Posted May 2, 2008 Deborah Jean Palfrey, the US woman recently convicted for her role as the head of a Washington DC escort agency, has committed suicide, police say. Ms Palfrey, often referred to as "the DC Madam", was found hanged in a shed next to her mother's house in Florida. She was convicted on 15 April of running a prostitution ring, money laundering and mail fraud. The case became famous because of the prominent officials - including Senator David Vitter - who had used the agency. Ms Palfrey maintained that she had had no knowledge of her escorts engaging in sex acts with their clients. But on 15 April, after hearing testimony from a number of the agency's former employees and clients, a federal jury found her guilty on all counts. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7378654.stm If this is a suicide, I'm the Queen of England. She was on the Alex Jones (American talk radio blow-hard) show a couple of months ago talking about how she would be "suicided" and went on the record saying that she would never kill herself. Palfrey was typical of those about to face charges she knew she was going down down down down down down down down down.......you get the idea. She knew it was serious and that the only way out would have been by turning over her records......all of them and that included the ones listing the top knobs of Washington which would bode badly for her. Even if she was handed a light sentence the odds were she wouldn't make it out alive. Heidi Fleiss or Sydney Biddle Barrows she isn't. Make that she wasn't. Palfrey was part of the new breed, much less spined. I hope the trial goes on anyway and that we are then treated to a dozen made-for-televison movies.
