American child actor John R. Countryman (Wiki) dead at 91

 

He was credited as Johnny Russell and appeared during the Golden Age of Hollywood in The Blue Bird (1940) alongside Shirley Temple, Always Goodbye (1938), Jesse James (1938), The Man I Married (1940) etc.

 

Later he became the 4th United States Ambassador to Oman.

Sad news, he had a small but memorable role in Mr Smith goes to Washington.

I think only Garry Watson remains from that film.
