Prince Bernhard's Milatry Funeral was held in Delft today (11th december) and was interred into the DutchRoyal Vault of Delft's New Church thus making him the 46th member of the Dutch Royal House of Oranje-Nassu to be interred in the royal vault, he was liad next to DL's no. 20, Queen Juliana. BBC's In Pictures: Prince Bernhard's Funeral Prince Bernhard's Funeral Serivce (this is must see, look at how good looking Queen Beatrix is dressed in White, she the one on the left with the purple collar, very nice!!!!!!)

Very selfish of him not waiting until the new year. Anyrate, the dutch royal memorial page says that Prince Bernhards Funeral will take place Saturday 6th December. Here are a few links: http://www.koninklijkhuis.nl/bernhard/www/splash.php http://www.koninklijkhuis.nl/bernhard/www/index.php?Lang=EN

I still think Prince Bernhard is dead cert seen as hes 93, had 50 operations and has an in-operable tumor.
-
Mr. Prime Minister, are they the odds for PB lasting 2005 or not lasting 2005?????
-
More recent news is just in from Google News, looks like he doesnt have much time left what so ever, the Dutch Prince is 93 and has an un-operable tumour accroding to this:http://www.expatica.com/source/site_articl...operable+tumour Yes and i should imagine it is very draughty in the Royal Burial Vault of Delft's New Church.

Found this, it looks that he could be on his way out: http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L17614547.htm If he does say his final farewell next year it would mean 3 deaths in the Dutch Royal Family within 2 years.

Take a look at this (http://www.hollywoodforever.com/default.htm) , it's where Fay Wray is buried and many other celebrities. From looking at it, the cemetery is very Hollywood.

Serious Contenders for Next Years List
Earl Gloomy replied to Death Watch Beatle's topic in DeathList Forum
I think my favourites would be: Margaret Thatcher - ill and lossing memory Sir Angus Ogilvy - Has (had) several forms of cancer, been in intensive care this year and is generaly getting old. Prince Bernhard of The Netherlands - Has had 50 operations and been in and out of hospital many time over past 3-5 years, he is 94 next year and is probably still comming to terms with loosing Queen Juliana You have to second some of those!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Teddy means me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you teddy but i beat you to it, i have already seen them, yes i am a freek but as u posted that link it sugests that u already knew that. Though i must say u have very high taste when it comes to choosing websites for royal funerals, BBC produces very high quality of photos when it comes to such occassions, i am highly ammused at picture 2 showing the Duke and Dutchess of Kent, what the hell do like look like walking like that; though if i were them i would sueing the photographer.

Pitty she didnt wait 2 more days to die becuas ei would have won £100 for guessing the first celeb to die of the month, too late this month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyrate i found these cracking photos (especially the first one) of Princess Alice in BBC's tribut, titled In Pictures: Princess Alice http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/3967471.stm
-
LOL@DWB comment well i dont know about you but i like to dress up as Princess Alice or Queen Margrethe of Denmark at weekends
-
Goodness, this is more intresting to comment about than a few of those other issues you have commented about since i posted this !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I don't think he will die any time soon. Alzheimer's disease takes about 10 years to fully progress before the person dies. Take Ronald Reagan and Queen Juliana who both had Alzheimer's and they where both diagnosed with it 10 years back ! ( Take alook at Juliana's and Reagan's link on wiki and click Alzheimer's)

They embalmed him, waxed him, and put him in a class coffin on display in St. Peter's Cathedral, Rome.

Fact: Queen's Day in the Netherlands is the day when the dutch nation celebrate their queen's birthday (much larger event than here, but hey we have the more formal affair of Trooping of the Colours) It has been celebrated on the 30th of April for 56 years since the regin of Queen Juliana; the date of Queen's Day did not change when Queen Beatrix took over the throne because her birthday fell on 31st of January and the weather spoilt the outdoor celebrations so the date of Queen's day was kept on Queen Juliana's Birthday which was alot better to hold the outdoor celebrations.
-
grrr checky!!!!!!!!!!! Any rate if u want cheering up you can look at all those links that u wanted so much which i posted in Queen Juliana's thread, i know you like them!!!!!!!!! shall i get load of links of the delightful Claire Rayner
