He's been retired from his only real job for 25 years, he should have been retired from it for over 30 years. Well, after being out of the ring for 25 years, I am quite certain that my prediction will stand. I don't see him making a comeback bid.

I don't think he or his family would turn off the life support as his party of choice has firmly come out that they're not going to let anyone choose to die.

Why was this one taken off the main group of permanent threads? It seemed like a good way for people to orient themselves with the rest of the group.

So is he a legitimate contender for 2007?

To this day I deny having sex with that woman.

Santo is in the same boat as John Tenta I think. He's probably a lock to go a some point in the not-to-distant future. However, you have to consider whether or not he'll get a British obit as he is a non-fall-of-famer who hasn't played in a long time.

If he lives he's a lock for 2007. Think of next year's DDP. Sharon will probably be on all the teams.

I've been looking for some really depressing reading. I think I might check it out.

I can't wait for our generation to get that old because we have such accurate records of vital statistics. Unfortunately (please see the thread regarding living to 100) I will not be there. But it's nice to think Deathlisters of the distant future will be able to bet on my contemporaries with some degree of accuracy regarding age.

Happy Birthday, and many happy returns. Unless you're secretly someone on the list. -

"Striker?" I suppose in the football (soccer) sense. Not in the labor agitator sense.

Going back to my mobsters theme - Sammy "the Bull" Gravano - recently convicted of selling E after going into witness protection for snitching on John Gotti. And... John Gotti Jr. No reason, just in a dangerous profession. -

And, might I add, the problem with Christians, more particularly the fundamentalist crowd, is the bible. If by definition Christians are the followers of Christ, why is any heed paid to what went on before he turned up?The first five books of the Christian bible, the Old Testament (including Genesis, wherein lies the basis of much of the creationists' arguements), are the Hebrew Torah. What does that have to do with Christianity? Could someone brainy please explain. Well, there isn't a lot of verifiable evidence for it all. God was in a chattier mood back then, perhaps modern man isn't as good at conversation. (I blame the internet and reality TV) The crux of the whole thing is that you must take it all on faith. Which is at odds with the scientific tactic of trying to test everything that they can, or at least make logical conclusions based on the evidence at hand while continuing to refine our knowledge. Scientific knowledge can change and improve as more information becomes available. Faith is forever rooted in the dogma that spawned it until God decides to do something about it. -

I particularly like the bit about pirates and global warming. Whilst under the influence of some Swiss beer some years ago I formulated a theory regarding snow ploughs. It seemed to me that the reason Switzerland (and Austria) had so much snow was because thay had many snow ploughs, and these attracted the snow. To prove the theory it would have been necessary to remove all the ploughs (perhaps to Slough) and see if the snow followed. Regretably the authorities were not keen and supposition remains unproven. That is a brilliant observation. Have you any other ways to improve society? -

Can't help but wonder about his succeptability(sp) to infectious diseases at a prison like that. I'll concur that he is a very strong pick. Close confines with poor sanitation, wretched treatment, malnutrition and plenty of malaria and whatever other microbes and viral agents are floating around. -
I too would like to endorse this merger. Never have two things so happily merged since....well there are many possibilities, but for sake of the decorum of this wrestling chat I'll keep it clean. BTW...Jake the Snake. No man can get that depressed and keep relapsing without having to pay the (Rowdy Roddy) Piper.

I'd like to nominate Henry Hill, one time mobster turned informant and basis for the story of Goodfellas. He's back in jail and was apparently recently raped by two male drug addicts who videotaped the incident and are currently trying to market the tape. That sort of life style cannot be conducive to a long life. -

The Master and Commander? Make him a General and an Admiral and arm his troops with phones. What nation could resist him.

Does anyone watch NASCAR? A couple of the drivers came close to killing each other this weekend. -
Wow. You Brits really do call each other "old chap" eh what? Indeed we do, old chap Wow. You Brits really do call each other "old chap" eh what? Can't say I've ever been called "old chap" before, but anything goes on DL. It does? Oh, good. Windsor can start curtseying to me, then. Well...old boy, I'm afraid I'm from DC. But I've watched Mary Poppins many times as a primer on British culture.

An old American adage has it that those who trade freedom for security deserve neither. Ben Franklin I think.
