For me, the anti-death penalty folks really do a disservice to the victims, as the victims are not there to look pathetic and remorseful. The madness over Tookie for instance...it seemed like the news brought up his career as children's author (and, by the way, fat lot of good those books must be doing because I really haven't seen very much of his work in circulation) repeatedly. For me, that weak contrition doesn't cut it. He killed hardworking, innocent people in pure cold blood and they deserve retribution. And, if that argument is to specific, society deserves retribution for the lost contributions that their lives would have brought to their communities. This isn't even considering the fact that he was a founder of a gang that has plunged countless poor communities into bloodshed and dispare while idolizing the live-fast, die-violently ethos that brings no good to all. Some people commit crimes that are to vast to simply punish with confinement, even to the degree of complete isolation. I feel murders, pedofiles and their like fall into that category and should not be tolerated by society because it sends the message that extreme forms of anti-social behavior can be tolerated, which I feel it should not. I honestly believe that a society without a Tookie or a Son of Sam is a better place.

In other news, gangster actor (Godfather, Oz) Richard Bright died. He was hit by a bus. It would probably be worse to be trampled by elephants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Bright_%28actor%29

Death Related Trivia And Facts

I too would recommend "Stiff" it is a great little read. Also the "Fireside book of death " (Not sure who wrote it) is also a good book for anyone interested in ways of mummification and length of decomposition - This book was a particular favourite during my teenage years. I took about two days to mummify, but I've always been above average. -
That's turning out to have been a dangerous movie. I believe he is the second member of the cast to die. One of the other people killed himself I think.

Death Related Trivia And Facts

Mary Roach wrote a quirky little book about what people do with themselves when they died called "Stiff." It's light-hearted fare. -
1. Comes and goes 2. Yes 3. I try, but I'm genetically a bit insulated 4. Yes 5. One or two distant distant relatives perhaps I'm pretty sure anything past 67 will be more than I expected By the way ATJ, is your avatar playing the drums with carrot sticks? Well, at least I don't smoke.

A very good decision. Their peaceable existance is an affront to our very way of life. They threaten everything the western world stands for.

I suppose mafioso would probably make a good source of picks for the list. If you were doing derby deal pool you could probably score some unique picks points as well.

I read in the Post that a new Taliban-esque regime has re-asserted its control over parts of Afganistan.

Shocking revelations from the Star bring out the true circumstances of the drowning that killed his wife...I can't believe those hacks at the Post never picked up on the fact that she was obviously the victim of foul play. Thank god some journalists still believe in bringing out the sordid truth. Especially with photos and quotes from relevent famous people. -

There hasn't been an English king who engaged in a bit of wenching? Hard to fathom really. -
So I suppose you favor the death penalty then?
-
I concur. Very good show old chap.

Do you think it's as serious as the Spanish flu outbreak of 1918? It does not yet seem to have the communicability of past epidemics.

How did the discussion even come up in the chatroom. I really don't see what good printing off a lot of internet chatter would do.

I don't think their longevity is qualification enough for including them on the list. I agree with the more stringent standards of death list regarding their status.

Gary Coleman is still as obnoxious as ever. He's more likely to be killed by a disgruntled fan as he dislikes signing autographs Yes I've heard about that too. That was another reason for my piking him. Isn't there meant to be some sort of curse on Diff'rent Strokes? I know Dana Plato died young Dana Plato ended up commiting suicide after she couldn't get any more work when the show ended She starred in a good bit of porn before overdosing on heroin.

What kind of deathlist site to you guys think you're running if didn't even add Katsulas to your list. His deadly cancer was a well-known news for the whole year 2005! As far as I can tell this person hasn't even got a UK obituary, so definitely not up to DeathList standards. Well, another person representing a miscalculation is Lynden David Hall, who eventually succumbed to lymphoma.

I really don't think Liz Taylor or Muhammad Ali are going to die this year. I bet everyone else has as good a shot as any though.

For a long while Martin Bormann was thought to have esaped. However, I believe that the Russians released information stating they found his body shortly after capturing Berlin.
