What I never understood was the level of detail the bus enthusiasts managed, who has time to learn all of the bus routes in their city by heart?

Can someone explain why you can't use plane/train spotter? The one's I really couldn't understand where the bus spotters at school, or is that passenger carrying vehicle enthusiast?
