A huge slice of BBC history passed away today. Along with many others, I slowly became drawn to the charm, humour, and natural banter of one of Irelands finest. He struck me as professional, but never rehearsed, ready with the adlib, or get out clause if things went awry. I preferred the radio Wogan than the television version. A real peoples broadcaster, who spoke to all as individuals. Irreplaceable

Never mind Hobden and Allin being bowled over for 2016, it's John Manners I want to walk back to the pavilion. At 101 he is the oldest first class player "not out". He is in my Deathrace selection so its about time he was stumped and shuffled off to the long room and visited the Lords! -
Stunned!

The Paris shootings without doubt. The aftermath is still being felt right across the world. An act of terrorism ending 130 innocent lives is unforgivable.

An awesome list put together MPFC, so hats off to the amount of work already put into the competition. Reading your earlier post, with so many entrants this time around, including many debutants such as myself, perhaps just one team per member next time around would ease your burden. Sounds cruel as you were offering the opportunity to members to submit a "near miss" select, but such is the popularity of your competition I fear the work load will only increase in the coming seasons.

Thanks for the update YoungWills. I omitted the word "was" when mentioning Geesons marriage to Stewart. Blame it on proof reader having the day off.

It only leaves Sally Geeson, aged 65 as the sole survivor from the cast of this 70's comedy. Now she was a stunner when I was a teenager. She is married to William G Stewart of Fifteen to One quiz fame and producer.

Some great research msc with your listings. I'm sure one or two of those names will be considered for the 2016 list

Well I went for a German double this time with Helmut Kohl following Schmidt exiting stage left. As well as the death list record breaking fifteenth hit, I do believe Kohl's passing would also create a little piece of death list history in having consecutive Germans strike out.

What role did he play in Doctor Who?? I can't find his credit on Dr Who on his IMDB page, nor place him in any serial. He appeared in the series in 1967. He played Padmasambhava in episodes 2 to 6 in the story The abominable Snowmen

She must have been in other Brit exports cuz I definitely recognize her face from either BBC offerings pre-2008 or PBS anytime. SC She also played the French house cleaner Madame Renoleux in the ITV comedy series "French Fields".

So which actor or actress holds the title of the oldest surviving member of a Doctor Who cast now? There is bound to be some enthusiast out there who knows

Well we are on a roll with Avenger Steed tipping his bowler for the final time. I'm going for a pair of eyebrows attached to Denis Healey

I have noticed that the Postal Lottery have been running adverts on television lately. Most of them show over aged fat cows of women holding a large cheque. Looking at the wife just now I consider the odds of me grabbing the winning ticket to have shortened.
