Its rare that I am sad about some famous deads, but this time it is something different. He was a hero of my childhood. R.I.P. Bud -
The novelist Noah Gordon (89 years old) could be a recommendation for next years DL. 10 Mio. copies of his masterpiece "The Physician" were sold in 35 countries. recently there was released a movie Version with Ben Kingsley, Tom Payne and Stellan Skarsgard. The Broadway in New York is preparing a Musical for the mid of 2017 from "The Physician" and Noah Gordon "doubts he can live long enough to see it". there is something in the air if you take into account that he starts to donate some of his property.

Kirk Douglas this morning in Beverly Hills. He wears Ray Ban glasses, is smiling and looks okay for his age. He could live another ten years and be the next Zhou Youguang... Or maybe he wants already to say goodbye to all of us with this pic? Who knows....

Beverly Cleary. 100 today! Maybe someone for next years DL, she is famous enough for an obit. -
Hans-Dietrich Genscher is dead, unfortunately no April-Fool. He was german foreign Minister from 1974-1992.. Next to Guido Westerwelle (died two weeks ago) he was the well known FDP-politician in Germany. I hope the FDP will not die out.
-
One for 2017 DL could be Michael Anderson Director of the 1976 sci-fi film Logan's Run and 1956 epic Around the World in 80 Days Dont know if somehone mentioned actor Alan Young, one possibility too for next years DL.

R.I.P. Rob Ford! Sixth hit for me, not so bad!

FDP is the party of capitalist bigots who lick US arses more than Blair did, so their bad reputatiton among the Germans is deserved!! I know these Kind of stereotypes. neither true nor very original. I was for almost 13 years passive member in this Party.... enough time to make a different Picture of the Party.
-
Very sad news. He was often controversial and unpopular by many Germans. I had big respect for him and his FDP. The Party was always better than its Reputation. 54 years, may he rest in peace now!

This time voted for Prince Philip!
-
wow, big one and already my 5th hit this year. seems to be a year for new record. R.I.P. Nancy!
-
It is actually quite unexpected, sure he would go at some point this year, but I'm sure nobody expected him to be the 3rd hit considering the situation Zsa Zsa is in.. Everybody expects Zsa Zsa to make it to December, you'll understand in a year or two when the Prinz is still keeping her life support on.. I'm not convinced. Zsa Zsa obviously has reached the end of her life, even if she enjoys a kind of cult status for some of us, she`s finally only a human being in a pitiful health-state.

I voted for George W. Bush

No surprise, R.I.P. Martin Crowe.
