I don't know her name but I wonder if the british woman who made a living out of being a lookalike of QEII is still alive?

I'm surprised I thought you'd be team William all the way and supportive of your future King!!

Apparently Prince William was happy for every serving former Prime minister to attend his wedding in 2011 except Tony Blair. John Major if I recall correctly was a named guardian of some kind in relation to William and or a member of the order of the garter so would have been invited anyway?? I'm pretty sure Major attended the wedding. But anyway my point is in order not to make it obvious that Tony Blair was being personally singled out to be the only one excluded. The higher ups in the Palace decided the only way to prevent that was not to invite Gordon Brown too. William was happy for Brown to be invited but it would have looked both bad and obvious. Thatcher wasn't an issue because she couldn't attend because of health reasons and Prince Williams more formal link with Major was used to explain and justify his presence at the wedding but not Blair and Browns.

Now that you mention it she does. I was too busy admiring her handsome husband to notice before! -
@TQR Malcolm Hebden could well turn out to be a good shout by you in my opinion. I am surprised he hasn't been mentioned a bit more on here to be honest.
-
As expected a very gracious, generous , colourful and humorous bowing out! Enjoy your freedom and life as an ordinary participant in the Derby Dead Pool free of the shackles of writing quirky obits for any crumble picks!

Did you pick or consider picking anyone from Big Brother who was a non celeb (initially) or to put it a better way from the ordinary civilian Big Brother? I choose Caroline O'Shea from the original Big Brother in 2000. I have no compelling reason to pick her but I think she was the oldest in that iconic series turning 59 this year and by personality seems the most likely to go off the rails in an impulsive or manic way. Also a bit hedonistic I think. I could be totally wrong but felt she was worth a punt. I also suspect she is a unique pick but will obviously have to wait several weeks for confirmation of that.

@machotrouts Good teams. Sally Morgan has been recently widowed so might prove to be a good shout.

There is a team of them. Lady Susan Hussey is another one. The Dowager Duchess of Grafton wouldn't have been fully active in her role for several years.

Yes a very personal loss in Lady Farnham dying just weeks after her close friend and her mistress of the robes The Dowager Duchess of Grafton died.

Oh I am surprised to learn this but I definitely recommend you at least dip your tie in the water and try it. Teeming with lots of good one liners in it that I could imagine you liking and I think out of the shows main characters I definitely see you as being a Dorothy with a tiny dash of Sophia!

@msc a good detailed post! I can't remember of the top of my head but how accurate was your 1st January DeathList analysis for the DeathList of 2021? It's interesting to look back on such things not to humiliate but just out of general interest .Like reading a political columnists article on say the future of Theresa May on January 1st 2017 and then fast forwarding to summer that year and seeing the difference although perhaps not quite as extreme! For clarity even I thought if she called an election in 2017 she'd get a sizeable majority even a 3 figure one!! I feel this years list overall is better and more interesting than last years .Not drastically better but a notch better. Definitely a few things I'd have done differently. A few curious drops and non picks like Pope Benedict, Linda Nolan and Joanne Woodward and Frank Field and Liza Minnelli should have been included . But overall not unhappy and I expect it to beat the 12 hits of 2021. Linda Ronstadt, Marianne Faithful and Douglas Hurd wise additions. Oh and of course I couldn't disagree more about Loretta Lynn.. !!
