I never knew Joan Collins used to be his girlfriend? According to an old article I just read she dated him just before she left the UK for Hollywood. I knew he was in her circle of british showbiz friends along with Cliff Richard, Gloria Hunniford, Christopher Biggins, Shirley Bassey, Cilla Black, Barbara Windsor etc but not that they were exs.

I certainly haven't discounted that possibility!!

I agree with you I don't think she is on her way out at all and while I only have Lady Colin Campbell as a source , she seems convinced it is nothing too serious and hints it is an ' embarrassing ' health issue the Queen has that as Lady C says it would be vulgar to speak of directly particularly as its the Queen but hints its toilet related eg water infection or bowel related as a result of overindulgence in certain foods.

Just looked to see if he was chosen on the Derby Dead Pool and noticed they have him born two years younger than the linked newspaper article- not that it really matters now that he has died!

Lionel Blairs death is a 'hit' for me in this pool.

What do you think will spur more creativity next year? For me I feel the very wise step of incentivising unique picks has helped increase the level of variety of names picked in many teams. I personally don't over focus on the winning teams as I'm not very competitive and feel pretty sure I am not a contender to win!

Might be a wise move! If she is anything like her sister Jackie in certain regards she may well have a serious illness that she has not publicly disclosed. Jackie Collins only told her daughters she had been diagnosed with cancer around 2006/2007 . When it became terminal she knew the end was near she told the rest of her family but I think her death in 2015 was a big shock to many of her friends and Hollywood because she'd kept it private for nearly nine years. Not even her closet circle of friends in Hollywood like Alana Stewart were told. I think while Joan is obviously her own person I think it would not be out of character for her if she approached a serious illness in a similar way to her sister. Something for deadpoolers to consider...

In his latter years Anthony Newley was quite matey and friendly again with his ex wife Joan Collins....I hope this isn't an omen!

I thought it would be Biden or Macron! I suppose to highlight the positives the hotel and hospitality trade in Glasgow will be booming for the next two weeks and feel like a god sent after the past 18 months. I have previously stayed in one of the Hilton hotels, The Crowne Plaza, The Malmaison and a bed and breakfast near the Mackintosh art school. I reckon there's a good chance that at least one world leader or media news bigwig is sleeping on a mattress tonight that my backside has slept on! What a thought! Oh I'm not sure how similar the tales we would have to tell about our time in the hotel bedroom would be .. .but thats another story.....

Long time royal author and royal commentator on YouTube Lady Colin Campbell seems to strongly hint that the Queens health issue is something of an embarrassing nature ie toilet related and not a health matter serious enough to cause alarm. It is the first topic discussed in the video.
