I will now have a read!

The more I look at the list the more I can see several routes to 20 or more 'hits' this year. I understand why some posters find the list underwhelming or below expectations but upon reflection I think its fairly decent. A few omissions like Julie Goodyear, Clarissa Eden and James Whale surprised me and struck me as mistakes and the removal of Tom Smith. But I feel a lot of the new inclusions or returnees are good and decent choices that stand a good chance of being proved correct. Once peoples understandable disappointment at their expected picks or keeps being met a passes after a few days ,I think many may or should look at the list a bit more optimistically. Raul Castro, Frank Williams, Pope Benedict, Barbara Walters, Loretta Lynn, Bob Newhart , Jimmy Greaves , Yoko Ono, Shannen Doherty etc all good choices. So I'm not as pessimistic overall as others.

Lots of good lists entered this year going by what I have read on here. I think the overall standard is going up and I certainly think there will be more unique picks across the board.

I choose her for my Death by numbers list! I first heard of her on here about a month ago. It may well have been a post by you I took the tip or inspiration from?!

Awe my mum will be upset .Maureen Lee is one of her favourite authors along with Lyn Andrews and Margaret Dickinson. She was quite partial to a Josephine Cox novel but she sadly died recently also.

Oh it's just that there seems to have been more backlash than usual against the official list.I think both the crowdsourced and official list are both good.A handful of omissions from the official disappointed me but it's not poor imo.
