Well my three teams of crumbles are all quite distinct and different full of interesting names and probably a few unique picks like last year. They are in no way an attempt to game it via the drop dead 40 which is a part of the game that's not on my radar at all.

I love reading detailed obituaries in the more highbrow media. In the UK the Times, Telegraph and The Guardian in particular do excellent obituaries full of nuance and a real sense of the person's life and impact. But that's not due to me being morbid, malicious or wishing death on people. If anything to me it's life affirming and life celebrating. It broadens my mind and curiosity about people and life in general including the fields the deceased person was involved in and their era. Whether it be Danish politics, US politics, opera, philosophy in the 1950s,boxing, science, film, comedy, literature etc People and their lives interest me. No malice intended as I'm sure is true of the majority of people on here.

Let me recommend to you golden era Hollywood actress and recluse Vera Miles to bang on and on about to fill the void left by Glynis in the future...... -
What does FFBI stand for?

Oh there's still time variety is the spice of my life I make sure of it!

Would be happy to participate if this pool is returning this year.

High. Especially in British 'broadsheet' newspapers like The Times and Daily Telegraph.

Hi Radz Phantom just to clarify It's Nancy Sinatra Senior who's 101 who is on my list rather than the younger Nancy Sinatra. Sorry to be a pest! Thanks for all your hard work running this game it's appreciated a lot.

Any thoughts to give on the three Crumble teams given that your in such a chatty and analytical mood please?
-
I keep half expecting to hear of news of his death any day now as I think his health combined with age makes for a really poor outlook. Definitely the right decision of the committee to keep him firmly on the list.
-
I am wounded my fellow scot at how you have completely overlooked me and my three crumbles as contenders to shake up the competition and the leaderboard! My crumbles are definitely worth a tasty try!

Curious @msc Was Loretta Lynn at any point in contention please? -
Some good choices @mr.whit but Barbara Bush wasn't born 1929. 1925 I believe but not as late as 1929. Joel Grey was on a number of my shortlists but never made it through but nevertheless I think he's a good choice by you.

Kirk is incredibly sprightly for his age! Whilst I would not bet the house on it I would not be shocked if he made it through this year and ended up living until about 103 or so!
-
I agree with the decision to keep Bob on the list although perhaps I'm guilty of subconsciously taking too much notice of some claims and stories in the National Enquirer!
-
Possibly up to a point but I'm very sceptical that he will see 90 personally but time will tell.
-
On balance I tend to feel confident that it was the correct decision by the committee to drop Doug. He seemed in decent fettle in more recent media coverage etc.
-
Awe sad to hear this I was a bit of a fan of hers.
-
Still believe Sheila Mercier would have been an excellent and worthy pick for the committee.
-
Seems the New Year's eve abdication announcement was 'fake news'!
-
So glad the committee decided to keep her against my expectations.
