Gooseberry Crumble replied to msc's topic in Dead Pools
I would recommend people vote for 85 year old country and western legend Loretta Lynn who had a stroke earlier this year. -

I think people should vote for 98 year old Emmerdale matriarch and legend Sheila Mercier also known as Annie Sugden. -

I urge people to vote for Clarissa Eden. Turns 98 next year and as the widow of a former British Prime Minister she is guaranteed a qualifying obituary. -
I'm inclined to think they are probably right.

The 3rd Crowdsourced Deathlist (2018 edition)

I recommend people vote for the fabulous Hollywood legend Sidney Poitier. Aged 90 and was too ill and frail in early 2016 to collect in person his honorary BAFTA and the pictures and video clips of him at the time pointed to him being a man in very frail health and condition. -
No more updates today it's said.

I do think people changing their vote sometimes even after the person has died but before the poll has closed are being a bit daft and are going overboard. It kind of defeats the purpose.

Happy Birthday to Joni! The music legend is 74 today

I'm glad I'm at least in good company!

In my wisdom I ignored the suggestion to pick King Michael of Romania! In my defence I'm newish, this is my first year fully participating in all the main pools and I'm not a hugely competitive person by nature! I still have hope of storming the leaderboard though ! Still waiting for The Dowager Duchess of Grafton to deliver for me and compensate for this obvious miss!

Can anyone recall which poster it was who first drew King Michael's plight to the forums attention and then kept on promoting the suggestion the committee include them in this year's list? I seem to remember one particular member advocating King Michael last autumn but I may be rembering it wrong.

Sad news. He and Leah now seem the most likely to be the 17th death. I voted for Bob Dole as most likely but I'm not one for changing my vote retrospectively as some do! Kind of defeats the purpose and takes things a few notches too seriously.

Great choice for a thread and next years list. Although I am surprised she doesn't already have a thread. I could have swore that she did.

Is it still the intention to allow people to enter more than one team? I can still bake and put forward my three crumbles...

Speaking of Monica Vitti to the lady herself 86 today. I do think given reports on her health that she should at the very least definitely be on the committees radar.

Lois Smith is a good shout and has also turned 87 today

Barbara Windsor has I think attended practically every Pride of Britain award ceremonies except maybe when she was ill with epstein barr virus around 2004. I was quite surprised to see she didn't attend this year's ceremony (as far as I can make out via Google etc) as she's always been such a stalwart of this event. There could be absolutely nothing in it but worth keeping an eye on imo.
