Speaking of Bernard Hepton many happy returns to him 92 today! A good name to put in the mix for consideration next year too.

This confused me at first as I didn't realise there were two Johnny Mathis? A famous singer called Johnny Mathis has just turned 82 today and is definitely not dead! -

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4933914/Last-photos-Hugh-Hefner-Playboy-mogul-frail.html Daily Mail article on Hugh Hefners last months, saying he was a billionaire when he died which I'm not sure is true and how his widow was' left out' of a family meal in tribute to him last night.

Hence why I'm really surprised at how few people have chosen him in the 15th thread poll.

http://www.politico.com/story/2012/08/hefner-gay-rights-under-assault-079930 Definitely an ally and friend to the gay community whatever people's opinions on Playboy itself.

I'm going to be bold and say I think we will reach 17 this year but then struggle to reach as high a figure again for quite a few years.

Given his age and the fact he's in hospital I'm surprised I'm the only one who has voted for Bob Dole.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Hefner Here is his Wikipedia page. I hadn't appreciated that he was so active in defending the first ammendment on freedom of speech as well as being very pro gay rights and gay marriage. Whether or not one was a fan of Playboy its hard to deny it's culturally significant role and influence in American society especially in the second half of the 20th Century. Definitely helped in part making society less puritanical with regards to sex which can only be a good thing in my humble opinion. R.I.P Hugh the original Mr Playboy.
