On this day exactly one year ago in 2021, american actress and singer Jane Powell died aged 92. Her career started as a teenager in the 1940s and peaked with big MGM films in the 1950s such as Seven brides for Seven brothers (1954) with HowardKeel , Royal Wedding (1951) with Fred Astaire and Athena (1954) with with Debbie Reynolds and Vic Damone . Jane was synonymous with the MGM musical films of this era.

American singer and actor Nick Jonas, formerly a member of family pop group The Jonas brothers, celebrates his 30th birthday today. Pictured above in a photo shoot were he seems to be imitating the legendary Marky Mark Calvin Klein photo shoot from the early 1990s. American actor Mickey Rourke celebrates his 70th birthday today. Pictured above in a photo with Kim Basinger in 1986 promoting their raunchy movie Nine and a half weeks.

Princess Alexandra also listed to attend in the article.

Well her daughter posts pictures and stuff were she has taken her mother out to restaurants etc so that picture could be a restaurant booking of elderly friends for their St Patricks day lunch ? Yes I think on balance the assisted living claim is true but I don't think that photo itself actually suggests that one way or the other.

The photos are from her daughter Claudia Cowans social media. Elsewhere online I have read a claim that she has recently moved into an assisted living facility. The main person making this claim states that one of their relatives went to the auction of some of her household items/personal effects. However Wikipedia still lists her as living at home in her mansion. So I am not sure what to make of the claim but wanted to share it on here.

Was the Duchess of Kent at yesterdays events? I can't recall seeing her. Saw many of her grandchildren and her daughter Lady Helen Taylor. I guess whether or not she attends the Queens funeral on Monday 19th could be revealing. If she doesn't manage to attend that I think it could only be health related as I see no reason that she would snub it and I don't think she is the type to do that anyway. From a deadpooling and deathlist committee perspective I say if she doesn't attend then she needs to be put on the official list next year.

I believe it has later been confirmed as Lady Gabriella Windsor-daughter of Prince Michael of Kent.

On this day fifteen years ago in 2007 ,Scottish rally driver Colin McRae, who won the World rally championship in 1995, died in a helicopter crash aged 39.

Prince Daniel, Duke of Vastergotland , who is married to Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, celebrates his 49th birthday today. Canadian Olympian and professional diver Cedric Fofana celebrates his 19th birthday today.

On this day in 2006 Mickey Hargitay, a Hungarian American actor , model and Mr Universe 1955 died aged 80. Early in his career before his big breaks he was one of the many scantily dressed musclemen who was part of Mae Wests revue act He later starred in a number of films mainly in musclemen type roles in films such as Sex comedy Promises Promises (1963), Stranger in Sacramento (1965), The Love of Hercules (1960),Lady Frankenstein(1971) and 3 Bullets for Ringo (1966). He went on to marry actress and Hollywood sex symbol Jayne Mansfield and they had three children together. At one point they divorced in Spain but the divorce was declared legally invalid and they briefly reconciled before splitting again. Jayne appealled the invalid divorce ruling and had it overturned in the American courts. (Pictured below with his wife Jayne Mansfield who co-starred with him in a handful of films) Mickey had another child with his first wife acrobat Mary Birge. When his ex wife Jayne died in a car crash in 1967 he petitioned her estate for child supporters as she was the breadwinner out of the two parents. He is regarded by some as playing a key role in bringing bodybuilding up front and into the mainstream. He died of multiple myeloma.

English television football commentator Martin Tyler turns 77 today.

On this day 40 years ago in 1982, Princess Grace of Monaco , also known as former actress and legendary Hollywood beauty Grace Kelly, died as a result of injuries received in a car accident in Monaco aged 52. Her daughter Princess Stephanie survived the accident.
