Collins was a plain-speaking country boy famous for colorful anecdotes who represented a Macon-based U.S. House district from 1992 until 2004. He stepped down to run for Zell Miller’s old U.S. Senate seat, a contest he lost in the GOP primary to Johnny Isakson, his stylistic opposite. SC

Blah blah blah Kennedy Assassination blah blah 55 years ago (age 46). Ok who among us had EVER known that Aldous Huxley and C. S. Lewis, the gents what wrote Chronicles of Narnia and Brave New World, died the same exact damn day as Kennedy was assassinated? (Fawcett/MJackson much?) There can’t have been a bigger day of famous deaths. Throw in the Nazi’s chief physician during WWII for good measure.
