C.J. Fuller, the former Clemson running back part of the Tigers' 2016 national championship team, has died. He was 22. Fuller played at Clemson from 2015-2017 after redshirting his first season. He rushed for 599 yards and four touchdowns. Fuller had a 30-yard TD catch in a 31-0 Fiesta Bowl win over Ohio State. A week later, Fuller's 20-yard kickoff return started Clemson's game-winning drive in a 35-31 win over Alabama for the championship. SC

Country music star Charlie Daniels expressed his concern for Christian Abercrombie on Twitter. I have Abercrombie in this 5-4-3-2-1 DP and I have Charlie Daniels as a unique Grammy winner selection in the Scavemger Hunt II. Is it possible this is the first time a person on one DP expressed concern for a person on another DP? SC

There are literally 1000s of living WWII vets. I can post an obit if you like every third day if we are just going to post everyone who participated regardless of rank. Virtually every male over 90 was probably a WWII vet if you read through their obits. Discretion is the better part of valor. SC

Sure Book, but I think the point has been made. Your stats cover a mere 5 years, whereas a list from 25 years ago -- hard to pick any list of random 70 year olds who will live that long. Sure there may be an outlier or two, but 25 years later certainly 48 of 50 should be dead. SC

Needless to say I've watched him like a hawk (meaning once a month I check in lol). He is forever brain damaged and probably the mind of a 2 year old. So 'getting better' a relative term I suppose. One of those 'may be best had he departed' kinda deals. But who am I to judge? SC

George Kolombatovich, who coached Columbia University fencers to five N.C.A.A. championships and taught sword fighting to cast members of “Otello,” “Carmen” and “Don Giovanni” at the Metropolitan Opera, died on Sept. 19 in a hospital in Sarasota, Fla. He was 72. The cause was complications of pneumonia, principally acute respiratory distress syndrome, his family said. Mr. Kolombatovich — whose first lessons came from his father — spent 32 years as the head coach or co-head coach of the Columbia fencing team, many of them with Aladar Kogler. During that time, Columbia’s program became one of the country’s strongest: About 150 of its fencers became All-Americans, 17 won N.C.A.A. titles and several qualified for the Olympics, including Erinn Smart.
