A Gospel rapper? There's a 'Christian hip hop community'?? Huh. Well I gotta put it somewhere, and the Gospel thread needs beefing up. The Christian hip-hop community was rocked this week with the news that one of its most influential gospel rappers, Thi’sl Tyler, was shot multiple times. Multiple posts on social media indicated that Tyler was shot during an attempted robbery by some of the same people he has been trying to witness to about Christ. (The nerve of some people!!) A relative confirmed the shooting via a Facebook post. “Didn’t want to post until I knew he was ok and really wrapped my head around everything that happened today. My fav was shot multiples x’s last night and underwent surgery this morning.. He is expected to have a full recovery,” Dannette Dee Dee, someone who claims to be Tyler’s cousin, wrote. SC

Sir Creep is still awaiting points for this one. Apparently it's a unique -- no Bs and this the only O. EDIT -- OK I saw the 'standings' list and remark just now at the bottom of the page 1 lists. So I will safely assume these points are added. It so appears.

Update on sleeper pick Mike Gasparato -- sounds like he is somehow recovering. This month.

OK so I just caught up with this, so expect the full brunt of my anger at people who have zero common sense. Is it too much to expect simple common sense? How in the hell did William Dunlop, a motocross racer, receive bonus points for an 'unnatural death' when he crashed at a motocross event? I want that stupidity to sink in. SC

A woman in the Ryder Cup crowd has suffered a horrifying head wound after being floored by a wayward tee shot from American Brooks Koepka. The supporter was left with blood pouring from her face after the ball appeared to hit her near her eye socket. As medics rushed to the scene, Koepka dashed over to the crowd to check on the state of the stricken fan, and later handed her a signed glove as an apology. The American, 28, missed a number of shots afterwards and was described as "shaken" after the incident....and was wayward again with his tee shot off the seventh tee, narrowly missing more spectators lining the fairway. Former Massachusetts State Senator Brian Joyce was found dead inside his Westport home Thursday. Joyce's wife found the body at the couple's home. Officials say they do not suspect foul play and added the investigation is active and ongoing. Joyce was arrested last December and was facing federal charges. He was accused of using his political office for personal gain, taking up to $1 million in bribes and kickbacks from companies and using his Canton law office to launder the money. The FBI raided that office in 2016. After a two year investigation, the U.S. Attorney's indictment alleged Joyce "used his Senate office as a criminal enterprise." Joyce was involved in a single-car accident in Westport on Wednesday. The DA's office has confirmed the accident will be part of their overall investigation but it's unclear if it is connected to his death Joyce was elected in 1998 and was a state senator for nearly two decades. He had recently moved to Westport after deciding not to seek re-election. Sounds like a necktie party to me. Good riddance. SC

An Iraqi model and Instagram influencer was shot dead at the wheel of her car by unknown gunmen in Baghdad on Thursday. Tara Fares, 22, suffered 'three fatal bullet wounds' as she drove her porsche convertible through the capital's central Camp Sarah district. Her death has sent ripples through social media, where she had been building her own personal brand having amassed almost three million followers on Instagram. SC

David Wolkowsky, who became known as “Mr. Key West,” and who is credited with transforming the island of his birth into the tourist destination it is today, died at age 99. Of most interest: "Up until his death, he owned the southernmost private home in the contiguous United States, where he famously served potato chips and turkey dogs to his prominent guests. In 1974, he purchased Ballast Key, a small rocky island located roughly eight miles from Key West, for $160,000." Sir Creep rarely suggests reading the obituaries, but may I suggest you read this one...this unknown guy has quite an interesting story imho. Also -- if you want some fun, go to your favourite mapping program and look up Ballast Key, FL; and if you can, zoom in and see the house (southernmost in the U.S.) and island setup Wolkowky had. Life's a beach! SC

Now some good news: Toothless, a green tree python, was rushed to the Mount Ommaney vet in Brisbane, after she accidentally swallowed her lower jaw bone while feeding. Because it was her first time feeding since laying eggs, it's understood her jaw was weaker than usual. Toothless' jaw became dislodged and collapsed into her throat. Thanks to the vet's quick thinking, a brace was made out of a paper clip and molded to fit around the outside of her jaw, helping it align it into place. SC

This sucks. A critically endangered Sumatran tiger pregnant with two cubs was found dead in the Indonesian province of Riau after being caught in a pig trap, authorities said Thursday, in the latest setback to a species whose numbers are estimated to have dwindled to about 400. The head of the local conservation agency, Suharyono, said the tiger, aged about 4 years, was reportedly trapped earlier this week, escaped and was found dead on Wednesday in a ravine about 150 metres (500 feet) from the trap with part of the snare wrapped around its body. It was pregnant with male and female cubs, said Suharyono. SC

Julius Whittier, the first African-American athlete to letter in football at Texas, died Tuesday morning at the age of 68. He was among the first black athletes in the nation to receive a football scholarship when he came to Texas from Highlands in 1969. Whittier, a stalwart offensive tackle, was a member of three straight Southwest Conference Championship teams (1970-72) and won a national title in 1970. SC -

msc yeah that's the rub -- being where they are, all of yours will most certainly obit, whereas other than the obvious 4 or 5 names on my list, we're probably in the 25-33% range. Hell, a few may not get NYTimes obits tbh. I dunno, those original cast Sesame Street folks are almost sainthood, so they'll obit around here. Not so sure about writers or smaller shows like Pufnstuf or Banana Splits. When Judith Lawrence goes they'll shut down Canada for the day, and she will get a NYTimes obit but even as big as her announcement will be I have no idea if it'll travel the ocean blue. I'm safely assuming y'all never heard of Mr. Dressup. I'm safely assuming anyone outside of the Great Lakes area hasn't in America lol. SC -

Now we certainly had Thomas -- like I said I cut it off at my 'childhood' in general. We also had Danger Mouse but that didn't arrive on PBS until easily the mid 1980s, I want to say well past that....and I used to watch it all the time cuz it was funny 'adult' funny kinda like the Flintstones could be, rather than a kids show. I turned a few people onto it but in the end I gave it a year and left for greener TV pastures lol. I had originally listed names from a few animated shows but deleted them. SC -

It makes me sad I don't know most of your characters/people on your list .... we just grew up with different shows, but they were still our immersion into TV and all that. I hold these people (below) as important in my life as I'm sure you do yours. Here's a quick list from us Yanks that we can attach to yours. Granted, it's all about time and space, and the children's shows I grew up with (on a black and white tv tyvm) are certainly not those of the 1990s e.g. Some names you'll obviously know. Joan Ganz Cooney - co-creator Sesame Street (SS) - b 30/11/1929 - 88 Lloyd Morrisett Jr. - co-creator SS - b 2/11/1929 - 88 Caroll Spinney - Oscar the Grouch (SS) - b 26/12/1933 - 84 Bob McGrath - 'Bob' (SS) - b 13/6/1932 - 86 Loretta Long - 'Susan' (SS) - b 4/10/1938 - 79 Emilio Delgado - 'Luis' (SS) - b 8/5/1940 - 78 Jaime Sanchez (Rodriguez) - (SS) - b 19/12/1938 - 79 David Nowell - Mr. McFeely on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood (MRN) - b 24/11/1938 - 79 Joe Negri - Mr. Handyman (MRN) - b 10/6/1926 - 92 Ted Nichols - theme etc composer, Banana Splits - b 2/10/1928 - 90 Don Sandberg - writer, Banana Splits and The Bozo Show - b 1930 - abt 88 Richard Donner - Director/producer, Banana Splits - b 24/4/1930 - 88 Billie Hayes - 'Witchiepoo' on H.R.
