    Julia Roberts

Artificially pregnant. Didn't Geena Davis squirt out a puppy at the age of 79 or summat? And then when asked -- you know, cuz science and all that -- suddenly decided she doesn't discuss her personal life.....and no one has heard from her ridiculous arse since.

    Opera

They were loads of fun, original lineup back then (1982 I think). The building was actually one of the original motion picture theaters in the USA, built in the 1920s. The stage was massive as it was a theater and/or stage productions. (well here, here is the history rather than me guessing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Opera_House). So Fred and the gang had lots of room to party out of bounds. Only downside is that it WAS a theater, and there was seating, meaning it wasn't designed for dancing around other than near your seat. I'd have liked to see them at a general admission open floor place, maybe would have been cool. I saw the Stray Cats at this venue as well, I had forgotten to mention. LOL I"m not choosing sides, Kate AND Cindy! [Edit: From Wiki: "The present Detroit Opera House opened in 1922 and was known as the Capitol Theatre. It was among the first of several performance venues built around Detroit's Grand Circus Park. When it opened, the Capitol was reportedly the fifth largest movie theater in the world, seating about 3,500 people. In 1929, the Capitol Theater became the Paramount Theater, and in 1934, the Broadway Capitol Theater." I had almost forgotten this. In typical Detroit fashion, they trash their history for modernism. It's amazing anything is saved. I went to school a couple blocks from the ongoing renovations to the opera house. One day they were tearing down the facade and behind the present day sign on the entrance was a large metal sign that said 'Paramount' in stylized lettering known to them. It had been lovingly tossed in the construction bin. Sometimes I hate my city of birth and/or the attitudes of people these days. If I could have climbed the fence and dragged that sonovabitch sign away and kept it I would have. SC]

    Derby Dead Pool 2018

Because they are the ultimate outliers. They are the Jeanne Calment(s) of the conjoined world! Every day -- every breath -- is record-breaking. Sir Creep is more concerned about why he keeps picking those who don't obit. That has to end somehow, but it's all in efforting separation from the pack. That unique hit could be the key. Oh well

    Opera

I saw the Plasmatics and the B-52s (two different shows) at what would become the Detroit Opera House. Pavarotti opened the place back around 1995. I wonder if he chainsawed a tv like Wendy O.? SC

    Chirac's couple

**..... you don''t say. Really? You don't say. Huh. Well my apologies then. Good day to you as well.** Seems Boudicca had been activated already, and my earlier post was full of sound and fury, but signifying nothing. And now we've booted Chirac's back to page 1, so there's that. SC

    Chirac's couple

Where the hell is Boudicca. I believe she is wrongly in DL prison I demand her immediate release! Anything less than a total and unconditional pardon is hereby unacceptable! I said I was going to launch the campaign -- the first shot is now fired! Storm the Bastille! What's that? Yes I'll hold...

    Political Frailty

Clifford A. Goldman, New Jersey treasurer from 1976 to 1982 and a major architect of the state’s first income tax, died Sunday at his Ewing Township home. The cause was leukemia. He was 75. Just me or shouldn't Treasurer be capitalized. It's an important enough gig. I'm sure the paper said 'According to Treasurer Goldman' back in the day. Maybe not. Anyway.... SC

Magic Johnson, And Other Basketball Players

Dan Ayala, who owns the highest winning percentage among UNLV women’s basketball coaches, died Monday in hospice care. He was 82. Ayala coached the Lady Rebels from 1975 to 1980, going 109-23 for an 82.7 winning percentage. The next closest coach is Jim Bolla, who won 71.4 percent of his games (300-120) from 1982 to 1996. UNLV made four regional appearances in the five seasons Ayala was coach. UNLV won at least 20 games four times under Ayala, including going 26-5 in his first season and the program’s second. The only time UNLV failed to reach 20 victories was when it played an 18-game schedule in 1976-77 and went 14-4. SC

    How Long Until We're Dickless?

A slight Dick stretch ... Richard "Dick" Vaughn, well known from his many years working as a top assistant in the W.R. Haughton Stable, died Monday morning, Sept. 17, in Florida. He was 86. Mr. Vaughn was born and reared in Massachusetts. Following a stint in military service, his brother, William "Bones" Vaughn, suggested he join him working for the Haughton Stable. The two brothers became part of the face of the Haughton operation, traveling with horses throughout the Grand Circuit. SC

    Vladimir Putin

A Russian model critical of Vladimir Putin's regime on Wednesday claimed that the Russian president had tried to kill her, in the latest poisoning scare at an Italian restaurant in the town of Salisbury, south-west England, where a former Russian spy and his daughter were poisoned. While police have since ruled out any Novichok link to Sunday's incident, 30-year-old model Anna Shapiro told 'The Sun' newspaper that she and her husband were the two people targeted with suspected rat poison. "I was targeted by Putin's henchmen. They want me dead as I oppose Putin and have turned my back on my country. Russia is capable of anything," she told the newspaper. "I'm sure the Russians think I'm a British spy. I know lots of rich businessmen in central London and because I have the accent people make assumptions about me." SC

    Ironic Deaths

Not a death, but.... A hairdresser was scalped in a horrific freak accident after her hair got caught in machinery when she fell asleep on a ferris wheel. Guyguy Salvador, 21, rode the fairground attraction with four friends after finishing work in Surigao del Sur in the Philippines on July 26. It is understood that she was exhausted after a long day and had fallen asleep inside the gondola when her long black hair got sucked into the ride’s machinery. (semi blurry photo if interested) SC
