A British couple hospitalized in critical condition were exposed to the same nerve agent that nearly killed former Russia spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in March, London’s Metropolitan Police said Wednesday. Authorities did not say whether the couple, identified by multiple media outlets as 45-year-old Charlie Rowley and 44-year-old Dawn Sturgess, were exposed to the same batch of Novichok that poisoned Sergei and Yulia Skripal. UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway’s return to the octagon has been postponed again. Holloway (19-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC) has been hospitalized with concussion-like symptoms and won’t compete against Brian Ortega in Saturday’s UFC 226 co-main event, MMAjunkie verified following a report from ESPN.com. Holloway’s management team released a statement to MMAjunkie with details: “Max’s team and UFC staff noticed Max was not normal since late last week. This became obvious to many watching his interviews and public appearances the past few days. “He was showing concussion-like symptoms before he even started his weight cut and was rushed to the ER on Monday where they admitted him overnight. Initial scans seemed okay, and he was released Tuesday afternoon, but symptoms still continued. “Max fought with his team to continue with the fight. He showed some improvement over the next day but was still showing obvious symptoms. After open workouts, he crashed and was very hard to wake up. When he did, he had flashing vision and slurred speech. “He is now back in the ER for further tests.” SC

The brother of former Memphis Grizzlies star Zach Randolph was shot and killed outside a bar in Indiana. The shooting happened just before 5 a.m. outside the Hop’s Blues Room in Marion, Ind. Shots were heard outside the bar, and the victim – Roger Randolph – was found between two cars in the parking lot. SC

Democratic Rep Steny Hoyer has been hospitalized with pneumonia in Washington DC. The Maryland congressman is expected to recover quickly. Hoyer, 79, is being treated with antibiotics and has been resting after he was admitted to the George Washington Hospital on Tuesday. SC

Debbie Harry had spunk, and that immeasurable goes a long way. That said, whilst I considered Madonna a bimbo at first, I realized later she did write some of her songs (lyrics) and found some respect for her. I also appreciate her political bent, which is spunk/moxy if it’s own. I just wish the two of them would have come over to Sir Creep’s place circa 1984 and hashed it out. SC
