Understood. Thacker was singing in Stanley’s band at age 16. FWIW
-
They’re still very mum about his exact ailment though. Have you found anything out Joey?
-
Never heard of him.
-
Funny how that goes.

I never found any justification for thinking Cappotelli was in immediate danger. Heaven knows I can miss the obvious, but I was rather stunned so many jumped on his bandwagon. That said, he will be dead before I hit 'enter'. SC (I chose Lima purely for defensive purposes 'just in case' and knew he would be D40; Ricksen WAY too early, but I have him on one team I think).

Well this one was created June of 2005. Unless another pre-dated this one, I don't care how popular another thread may have become, the earliest title should win the day. Yes, the 'Dead According To' is a unique entity agreed.

Thought it was a Grand Funk original perhaps?

What a fantastic headline........only to be disappointed. I should get monetary damages for fraud upon the reader. "Japanese tourist dies on Leaning Tower of Pisa" I know what you are thinking, and who wouldn't.

Longtime play-by-play broadcaster Joe McConnell died on Sunday at the age of 79 . In Chicago, McConnell was the voice of the Bears from 1977-1984, just as the team was returning to prominence after well over a decade of obscurity. He was on the call for playoff seasons in 1977, 1979, and 1984 when the Bears made it all the way to the NFC Championship. McConnell also handled White Sox broadcasts from 1980-1984 – and was on the radio call for the team’s 1983 American League West Division Championship. SC

Nancy McFadden, a lawyer and an influential political advisor to Bill Clinton and Jerry Brown, sadly lost her tiring battle with ovarian cancer on Thursday, March 22nd 2018. She passed away at the age of 59 in her Sacramento home. SC Seems this was posted but search box isn't being my friend.

Well I can't open the link, could be a few reasons. https://m.news24.com/Africa/News/at-least-17-dead-as-kenyan-bus-plunges-into-river-20180410 - (Kenya): Narok County Commissioner George Natembeya said more than 40 people were rushed to hospital for treatment. He said the accident occurred after a person who was controlling traffic near the bridge the bus was travelling on sent a wrong signal.

Actually Rick Davies is one of my picks in my home DL. First timer. In the world of cancer, no news is bad news, and he hasn't been heard from one peep since cancelling the tour.

Charlie Austin, a celebrated journalist who worked at WBZ for more than 30 years, died early Tuesday morning at the age of 73. The station lauded Austin as a trailblazer who began working at WBZ in 1968 after serving in the U.S. Army, starting out as a film processor, editor, and sports anchor before he became a general assignment reporter. Austin was one of the first African-Americans on television in Boston, along with Sarah Ann Shaw and Walt Sanders, according to WBZ. SC

For completeness: Now.... If you're interested, Thacker has to get rid of his dog cuz it affects Ernie's breathing. Own a piece of DL history! SC

Guess I'll put this here, as it only concerns Dead Cow and myself (and our opponents), and is of little DL thread interest otherwise. Update on ND Tiwari: Son got engaged, afterward went to hospital to get his dad's 'blessing'. If so, he must be in recovery enough to 'give a blessing' to his son's engagement, which indicates the 92-year old sonovabitch won't be leaving this mortal coil in April. :-( SC (Edit: This may be old news? Tiwari was on life support in 2017 and this article references that rather than the present affliction. But it's dated April 8 2018 and came up in Google news feed limited search to one week. Who fucking knows?)

One last Thacker note and I'm done. I think he belongs not just on Drol's list but near the top. This is why I'm riding him like a rented mule in the Cup. I reiterate: "Ernie’s hopes of ridding his body of this infection was cut short when his doctors found that is was now in his spine. So the outcome was not good. The doctors told Ernie he needed get his affairs in order. Ernie’s concerns, aren’t about himself, but how his wife Karen would pay for his funeral, and he didn’t want to burden her with this responsibility. Ernie reached out to his good friend, Ernie Evans of Evans Media Source and ask him if he could help him put together a fundraiser (benefit concert) in hopes of generating enough money to help with his funeral bills. ........... The evening prior to the (benefit concert), I talked with Karen Thacker and she was worried Ernie’s about health, as he had taken a turn for the worse." The concert was Feb 10.

According to China Press, the unnamed pensioner tried to scratch an itch in his penis by inserting a one metre-long cable into his urethra on March 30. OMG, what? The man had inserted the 5mm-thick phone cable inside his penis as he was experiencing a furious itch caused by prostatitis or swelling of the prostate gland. Unfortunately, when his itch was relieved, he found that he could not pull the cable out, which had went in relatively easily. He experienced bleeding when he tried to pull the cable out so he rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Medical staff at Dalian Central Hospital in north-eastern Liaoning Province were shocked when the man walked in with 20 inches of the cable still hanging from between his legs. Open link to find out how it ends. SC -
Burning Man founder Larry Harvey is in critical condition at a Bay Area hospital after he suffered a massive stroke last week. SC

This is more of Plant Antics than anything. A man bit off more than he could chew when he tackled the world's hottest chili, the so-called “Carolina Reaper,” and was left with excruciating headaches. In the first ever recorded such case, the next few days after eating the veggie the man experienced short splitting pains lasting seconds at a time. The 34-year-old, who was not identified, had eaten just one of the chilies at a chili eating contest in upstate New York. Immediately after the competition, he began dry heaving and developed intense neck and head pain starting at the back, which later spread across the whole head. He then developed crushingly painful headaches and at one point he decided to go to the emergency room. SC

Jeremiah Jereima 'Jeri', 33, and former press secretary to Florida Governor Rick Scott, died of blunt force trauma suffered in the crash at around 6.15pm in the waters off Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Bustamante was a passenger in an 18-foot Maverick skiff that impacted mangrove branches while traveling in a cut-through area on the bay side of Whale Harbor Channel SC
