How about a president's woman? Anna Chennault, a Chinese-born writer and business executive who married a storied American general and became a Washington hostess, Republican Party activist and secret emissary for candidate Richard Nixon during the 1968 presidential campaign, died March 30 at her home in Washington. She was 94. She had complications from a recent stroke. Chennault gained international fame in 1947, when she married a swashbuckling World War II hero, Maj. Gen. Claire L. Chennault, in Shanghai. At the beginning of the war, he organized the Flying Tigers, a volunteer group of American airmen in China, then a U.S. ally. He was three decades her senior. SC

Bill Rademacher, a two-way player for the New York Jets in their early years, has died. He was 75. A wide receiver and defensive back for five seasons who played on the franchise's only Super Bowl champion, Rademacher was an undrafted free agent from Northern Michigan (Univ) who made the AFL team in 1964 as a receiver. He was a backup and special teams player in the 1968 title season. Rademacher was released before the 1969 season and played for the Patriots for two years. Overall, Rademacher played in 58 pro games and had 24 catches for 282 yards and three touchdowns, all of his scores coming with the Patriots. He also was head coach at Northern Michigan, going 37-16-1 in five seasons. SC -

A discussion about the 'imminent' head transplant operation that will occur in human history, and how it may happen in China sooner than you think. Where is that boneheaded Ruskie we bought into? "Canavero estimates the cost of the first head transplant at $100 million." SC

Must be something in the water. Sen. Breene Harimoto, D, Pearl City, Aiea, Halawa, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He made the announcement Thursday on the Senate floor at the State Capitol as he cast his vote against "Our Care, Our Choice," Hawaii's medical-aid-in-dying bill. This is Harimoto's second battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just last year, and went into remission after undergoing chemotherapy. I think we have established with the likes of Ruth Samuelson etc that state senators are unlikely to gain much traction for a QO, so I am posting this for all to see. He would be quite useful in other pools of course, and I see no reason he can't skate into 2019, so he's Cup useless, so I am posting this for all to see. Anyway, I'm keeping the Hawaiians all in a 'neat neat neat' folder with a pretty bow on it for you. SC

Connie Lawn, a radio and broadcast reporter who covered the White House in the waning days of Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration, when women were a rarity there, to the first year of Donald J. Trump’s, died on Monday at her home in Falls Church, Va. She was 73. The cause was a rare form of Parkinson’s disease. Before death she was the Lawn, now she will be 6 feet below the lawn. SC

Fellow veterans may remember Warren Jackson as a brother in arms or as the one-time oldest commander of a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in the nation. His daughter, Valorie Jackson, will remember him as a "great patriot" too, but most importantly, "a great family man." Jackson died Saturday, March 31, at the age of 95. Jackson was recognized by President Barack Obama on his birthday in 2013 as the oldest living commander of a VFW post in the U.S. SC

Well let Sir Creep be the first to post something meaningful in this thread, besides my post above that is. Bonnie Reiss, who played a key role in crafting education and environmental policy for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, died Monday at her home in Malibu. Reiss made her way from national politics to entertainment law to government service, serving as a senior advisor to Schwarzenegger and later as the California’s Education secretary. A family spokesman said she was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. Reiss was 62. SC

Oh did DJL blow it. The easiest tag line in the history of taglines.....and he goes with 'terminated' when "I won't be back'....was so fucking obvious. Disappointed doesn't begin to describe my heartfelt emotions at the present. SC

Authorities say 45-year old Bojan Sprah, a contract worker at BMW’s South Carolina factory, was killed immediately from massive head injuries in the plant’s paint shop. There was no life saving measures that could be done him. Sprah was trapped in the lift that takes vehicles from the paint shop to the body shop. So the way I see it, all the vehicles got Sprah-painted. I'll get me coat. SC

Good thing about suicide watch for Troyer et.al is that you don't even have to put away all your sharp objects; you just have to put them on a shelf 5' off the ground.
