No intent to hijack a thread....so this is my only comment and no further response will be forthcoming. I just don't understand the connection between Sir Creep and ice hockey, but I'll leave that to your tiny little mind. It would be mildly amusing if there was any connection whatsoever. I thought the University Presidents was my bailiwick. It's not like I post most of the hockey deaths....so I don't get it. OK, as you were. SC

Britain is heading towards a "dilution of Brexit", with the country in danger of remaining in the EU "in all but name", former cabinet minister Theresa Villiers has said. The MP and Northern Ireland Secretary (2012-2016) said she felt "compelled to speak out" amid recent controversy over Brexit negotiations. Chancellor Philip Hammond was criticised this week for also saying the UK's trade relations with the EU would change only "very modestly" after Brexit, sparking anxiety among Leavers that Brexit may be delivered "in name only". Glad to see elections around the globe are as pointless as ours in Murica. SC

Kick out one of the side panels you have a ULINE workstation. Pretty sure that is how all IKEA crap is designed. A complete aside....Sir Creep used to do competitive intelligence research in the office furniture industry, mid 1990s. SC

There are still a couple ingenious thread tag lines, but the tag line for this right up there for sure. Brilliant! SC

There isn't a single thing (apart from age) 'deathlisty' about him. Look at the type of person they include. Virtually none need further explanation. What current names on the DL would you consider contemporaneous with this guy's accolades, name recognition, likelihood of being searched by outsiders. The Committee thinks big. This guy is small potatoes. And WAY out of the public eye, as you explain. Nothing--not one thing--would bring him into the attention of the Committee imho. SC

Whoa..... you putting Mormons in a thread for bigots? That's harsh. Pretty sure we have a 'clerics' thread a bit more appropriate. If we had a 'cult' thread I'm on board, as Mormonism may well be that. But bigots? Nah. SC

That is how this show is billed as well (& Family). Not to mention it is in the House of Blues in New Orleans, you simply can't beat that. I'm not a big country music guy but I respect Willie and his contribution. Had a friend who saw Glen Campbell about 4 years ago in Chicago during his final few shows. Talk about me being jealous! So yeah I should go see Willie. SC

Seems to have gone unnoticed that 5 days later Argent's bass player would drop over. You know....Argent, as in Rod, as in The Zombies. Odd that wasn't previously tied together in a nice bow, being 5 days apart. SC

That was just 3 cancelled shows. But subsequent shows must go on. Looks like he's coming to N'awlins ($145 for SRO general admission). Last chance to see him, now I'm thinking about it... SC

And puts his $250M ranch up for sale. He seems a very calculated man (I have him in my personal DP). I trust his actions to be proactive and sensible. He knows he's in his final 6 months. SC

Also, unless we are being run by Orthodox Jews, brain dead does not equal alive. Are we being run by Orthodox Jews? SC

I mean we all start with pages of names, then a page or two, then a list of 30 we pare down to 20. For me, it's that final paring down that = salvage lot. I chopped the following at the end basically cuz they were 8-point plays, and that won't win anything in DDP: Pres George Bush Sr. John McCain Bart Starr Jerry Remy Cardinal Roger Etchegaray Tessa Jowell and Reggie White, Jr. (already seeing that would have been a horrible pick, phew!) were 10+ points I chopped at the end. Others included: Peter Lorimer, Bobby Zarin, Willie Nelson, Joe Vento, David Berkowitz, Jim Kelly, Al Attles, Johnny Ruffo, Sen. Mazie Hirono, Carol McGiffin, Rick Davies, Taylor Dockins, David O. Belcher, Glenn C. Stewart, Jack Van Impe, Rev Ernest Angley, Marilyn Bell, and Richard Overton. They got cut cuz weren't worth many points, probably live through the year, or obit problems, in that order. I know my last couple that made my team were Ami Brown / Noel Conway / Kulsoom Nawaz (Sharif), and I had Tessa Jowell as my first alternate. I just remain unconvinced she will die 2018, but in hindsight I should have played her over one of those other three. SC

I was fortunate enough to throw his name into play in my personal DP I run, along with fellow GBPacker Willie Wood. Figured they might go on the same day lol wouldn't that be sumptin! Bart was a salvage lot for me on DDP this year. Oh well. SC

Well ok there's also THIS article from this week saying 'Bart Starr recommends blah blah blah' by a letter he sent. He didn't send shit. Bart Starr Enterprises sent the letter, and again it is signed by his wife Cherry. So this week we see he can't sign his name and can't make a phone call. I'm telling you, Bart Starr won't see Sir Creep's birthday in June. SC

I know I know. The Committee has zero intentions of ever putting a star American athlete on the list, even if it is Bart Starr. So I"m wasting my typing fingers. However, Starr had the same stem cell treatments in Mexico that Gordie Howe had, the results of which lasted less than 2 years. That threshold will be reached long before 2019 so this may be moot. [Note: QB John Brodie also received these stem cell treatments, but is like 7 years younger than Howe/Starr and seemingly ok at this exact time]. But I noticed this little gem today: Ravens TE Ben Watson received the NFL's Bart Starr Award, and was notified of this fact by a phone call from none other than...... Bart Starr's WIFE! Why, pray tell, can't Bart make a simple phone call? Hmmmmm inquiring minds want to know. Guessing he hasn't long. SC

Seen Any Good Films Lately?

Betting it's better than Dunkirk. Truly awful. I know this is a thread about positive vibes, but where else can I complain about 2 hours of my life I want back. I'd have rather re-read all of your posts here on DL, Joey. For 2 hours. SC -

The Rolling Probabilistic Ddp Scoreboard
Sir Creep replied to gcreptile's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Well Cancel My Appointments took into consideration (for the first time) what a person might score, and has only 4 players under 9 points (was hoping against hopes whoever had the Galyon Bros as uniques last year would not play this year). Over half my team are 10+ point plays. Sometimes you have an epiphany and you are forced to put a celeb on your team the God's have given you, even if scoring dictates you shouldn't. Some of you probably have such a celeb. I have some dude who will only score 8 points and that's with his unique bonus....I knew this and used him anyway because I promised the DP Gods I would. Early 2017 I'm watching 'Globe Trekker' and some guy bicycling through Seattle seeing the sights comes upon some place called GasWorks Park, where some landscape artist repurposed an old gas facility tanks and pipes into a family park/walk & recreation place. His name was Richard Haag and he was like 95, living, and I said to the DP Gods thank you and I will use him no matter what. And so I have appeased the Gods, who will not let me down with either his death (he seems healthy) or his obit (unlikely). So please understand the few names I used who were less than double-digit points. I am quite happy being totally under the bottom of the radar on this thread and elsewhere. Like any game, it isn't determined on paper (or a spreadsheet). Disappointed that (Joker) Falkholt was in the 40-50 range (not D40), that will hurt, but otherwise let's see it play out. SC -
DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis
Sir Creep replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Big gas 'kick' and massive H2S release at the rig yesterday. H2S monitoring folks came and said we had 8000 ppm of H2S around the shakers/drill floor. 1000 ppm is instant death. Never presume it's 'just another day' in the oil field, or that you are given another tomorrow. This on the heels of 5 dead in Oklahoma this week on another rig.... SC -
Calling an elderly person who 'falls' an unnatural death.....that's how almost ALL of them die. The old 'broken hip'. If you fall like that idiot Korean building climber a few months ago, that's unnatural (if not suicidal). Otherwise falling down is something that happens due to that unnatural thing called gravity. How long does 'a fall' have effect? A person falls and dies 4 months later? Anyway..... SC http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2018/01/04/john-dingell-released-hospital/109160778/

Wormfarmer this pool is along the lines of a semi-complicated but very easy one I've kicked around in my skull a while. Sorry I didn't throw an entry your way. That said, with every new DP, it seems one small idea of mine pops up here and there and if I ever launch it'll appear I stole it all LOL. I've posted my idea before but it's lost in antiquity a couple years ago. GL with this DP, I'll definitely give it a go 2019. SC

Sorry I'm late to THIS thread. What a contemptuous pretentious pile of treacle. Other. SC BTW w'happen to DQSP this year? Too busy to submit a team and administer the DDP? That is a tragedy of epic proportions. It almost negates the pool as invalid. "Yeah Babe Ruth was great, but didn't play against Hispanic or black players". Whoever wins gets an asterisk.
