The man who proudly led the Church Lads Brigade (CLB) band through parades in St. John's for decades has died at the age of 103. William Tilley carried the parade baton from 1939 to 2002, joking that he was retiring as drum major "before I become an old man." Tilley was given a 90-year service medal by the CLB in November 2016. SC

Randy Hongo, a beloved Christian recording artist and Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning musician (Hawaii's equivalent of the Grammys) died Saturday morning. He was 70 years old. Kalihi Union Church senior pastor Jonathan Steeper said Hongo was on his way to a performance at a senior’s home in Honolulu with a choir and hula group when he collapsed. Now THAT would be interesting, both piety and decadence all in one! SC

OK so it appears I forgot to update. Being my solo hit for DDP despite no obit, and he being in Houston, I looked and found the cemetery where his memorial service was held. Knowing I had to drive right past it on the way home, I stopped a few weeks ago to get a photo of his headstone for y'all, figured it would be amusing enough. So I talk to the person at the front desk who of course starts in why I want to see the grave, lol I say I knew Nabeel Qureshi from his preaching and just wanted to pay respects. So after going through a couple more people I finally get the skinny: "Sir (Creep), he indeed had a memorial service here, but the family took him to the east coast (of the U.S.) and that is where he is buried." Oh well, I tried. A for effort. Stalking the dead, it's what I do. SCreep

Ingram has been moved from ICU to Urgent Care, which despite the terminology is an upgrade lol. So seems he is on the mend a bit, though he also was said to be battling an infection. I don't have the link, read it last night. Info plucked from his daughter's FB page I believe. Anyway, go look it up if you must. SC

One of the fondest memories Sir Creep has of his dad (and there are precious few) was listening to Prima-Smith albums. RIP

Finally got it together and mailed a big ole box of goodies back for my daughter for Christmas. Daddy won't be there this year. I DID get to take her (7) to see Santa, and I suspect we have at most one more year of that. So there it is. SC
