Former New England Patriots coach Ron Meyer, who might be best remembered for his role in the 1982 “snowplow” game, has died, it was announced Tuesday. He was 76. Meyer also coached in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts and in the college ranks at Southern Methodist and UNLV. SC Snow Plow Game highlights.... 2:00 video http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09000d5d82a3b1ae/Films-Encore-The-snowplow-game Meyer was coach at SMU when the Pony Express received the death penalty, which took them from a top 10 program to still trying to recover this many years later (I think they went to their first bowl game since then just a year or two ago). ESPN 30-For-30 film, well worth the watch. Eric Dickerson, et.al. -
George Boyd Willie Sr., who passed away Tuesday at the age of 92 in his home in Leupp after a long illness, really took to heart his oath to keep the fact he was a Navajo Code Talker a secret. According to family members, he didn’t tell them he was a Code Talker until 1997, more than 25 years after the federal government officially informed the world of their existence. SC

He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - Hollies Vehicle - Ides of March Undone - Guess Who (FTR, this is a very challenging song to do, and for that reason I love trying it once in a while. If you can sing at all give it a try) Rocket Man - Sir Elton John (actually anything by Sir Elton, I actually sound more like him than he does. Don't know why, it's a gift [unless you hate him]). Teacher or Aqualung - Jethro Tull (actually anything by Jethro Tull, I actually sound more like Ian Anderson than he does. Don't know why, it's a gift [unless you hate him]). Sir C. (Edit - I'm pretty serious about the Ian Anderson comment, but dead fahkin serious about Sir Elton). -

I bet 1000 people in the U.S. alone are. Was this supposed to seriously be of interest on this site? I was admitted to a hospital in 2000 for the same. Managed to survive, apparently the Gods wanted me to come here 17 years later and chastise your posts, so I appease them today. SC

I've always thought that his Achilles Heel. I vote no. I mean I won't have him on my team(s), as evidence of my vote. Good luck for those who believe he will. That may change if articles are written as he closes in on death (or is it vice versa?). SC

If you want a Mortenson update, he's on TV all the time during football season, including last night's MNF game halftime. SC -
Actually he was a great man. I posted this in the Metis page I'm part of on FB. Yes, his name deserves a spot in this thread, I just wanted to follow up. SC

OK that was truly awful. I'll assume the intro, which is the only sampled section I heard, was David Cassidy. What song, I couldn't pick it out SC

I once hired a fine Nigerian lad to work in my office named Ohuegbe. He was kind enough to have (or claim to have) the surname Clemens. This was 1996 and Nigeria won the Gold Medal soccer (yes, football) at the Olympics, and Mr. Ohuegbe was quite excited, and I was happy for him. So it's not like I haven't seen or dealt with names akin to Africa, but Mnangagwa seems a bit much. I coughed phlegm trying to say it. Also for the record my office was primarily Arabic employees and clients, and I can handle the back of the throat gargling KH Arabic dialect sound all right (e.g. mahkamah = court). The nangag in Mnangagwa is impossible for my tongue to handle, sorry. I am defeated. o-HEE-bay Clemens, btw. SC

I think I got inoculated for that.

Almost posted in Pilots thread, but I guess it goes here. Earl Keegan went on to serve in two more wars, lead Naval Air Station Oceana's first jet squadron and work in federal aviation safety. Along the way he became a father of four and and earned two distinguished flying crosses and five air medals. Keegan, a tough guy with a sentimental soul and a love of scotch, died Nov. 15 of congestive heart failure. He was 94. RIP. SC

Sorry to hear about your feline friend, PB.

I don't think I agree with the procedure of waiting for a QO before you strikethrough the dead celebrity's name on a team's roster. The person is deceased, and should be crossed, as to avoid confusion, imho. The QO is altogether another matter apart from the person's life or death. Just thought I'd throw it out there. No big deal. SC

Paul Stanley of KISS called out Marilyn Manson for sharing an image of Charles Manson with a link to one of Marilyn Manson's own tracks. Stanley tweeted: “[It’s] pathetic when somebody [whose] career never really took off is desperate enough to try for publicity by connecting himself to the news of a murdering scumbag’s death.” SC
