Grateful Dead member Bob Weir is auctioning his personal Tesla to raise money for two environmental nonprofits, the Oceanic Preservation Society and the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. The Tesla's front-facing trunk is signed by members of Weir's current band, Dead & Company, which includes Grateful Dead alumni and singer-songwriter John Mayer. Bid early and often. SC -
Shouldn't there be a 'Dead' sticker on this thread?

Nashville Mayor Megan Barry says her only child has died of an apparent drug overdose. A statement released Sunday from Barry and her husband, Bruce, says 22-year-old Max Barry died Saturday night in Denver. Max Barry graduated in June from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. Putting that degree to good use! SC -
The Walking Dead cast, crew, and producers are still reeling from tragedy after stuntman John Bernecker’s death earlier this month. But the show has resumed production and Bernecker’s death will not affect story lines on the upcoming season, The Walking Dead executive producer Robert Kirkman told reporters after an AMC Visionaries panel at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Saturday. Well that's a relief! SC

Some guy bets 350 pounds on Elvis Presley showing up alive this year. 2000:1 odds, I dunno that doesn't sound enough, does it? SC

A man in California has died after getting stuck in a clothes donation box. A few people believe they have seen the man at the box before, taking clothes and collecting bottles and cans on the streets. He will remain nameless but the story was worth posting for comic relief. SC -
Marian Cleeves Diamond, the UC Berkeley professor who studied Albert Einstein's brain, died Monday in Oakland. She was 90. Diamond was "one of the founders of modern neuroscience," the release said, by being the first to show that the human brain has the ability to change with experience and improve with enrichment. She showed evidence of this capability in Einstein's brain, achieving celebrity status in 1984 when she examined preserved slices of the famed physicist's brain. Einstein had more support cells in his brain than the average person, she observed. SC

Here let me help you out by re-posting the title of this thread, and feel free to edit with a colored font where it even SUGGESTS 'true'. To my knowledge my post qualifies under at least half of those listed: Stupid/funny/cool/outrageous/scary/weird/crazy Stuff You Read/saw In The News/on The Internet -

OK am I to understand if I attach links to the N.E., the UK can't open them? I know there are certain videos y'all post that I can't open here so who knows. Apparently Cher is fighting a virus that is 'eating her alive' and has resorted to experimental shock treatments. Apologies re: link if inaccessible. SC

Hall of Famer Lou Brock, who was diagnosed with blood cancer earlier this year, announced Friday that he has been declared cancer-free. Apparently all the cancer was localized in his amputated leg. SC

A Boeing 777 airplane belonging to the Taiwanese airline EVA Air, dumped human excreta midair while traveling from Japan to Hawaii. Unfortunately, the content of the toilet tank was jettisoned into the sky while the plane was flying over the cruise liner Lady of the Pacific, which was hit by “large chunks of blue ice”. The top deck of the ship was literally covered with chunks of blue ice containing human excreta. Hundreds of passengers were standing on the top deck at the time, and many were hit by ice projectiles weighing up to 10 lbs. SC -
I hadn't realized (or heard) that. Crazy....following the guy for one category now he encompasses two! SC

If your portrayal is accurate, and I've no reason to think otherwise, why is DM considered a legit news source for QOs then? -
Geena Davis and James Woods.... *drums fingers on table top*..... Guess I don't get the 'theme' after all. Which is why I'm not listed. SC
