Man that's tough. Gotta go Kirk the Elder though. One thing for sure -- if he buries his son, he will be so lovelorn as not to last two weeks. SC

Given the link, and the scant info therein, not even mentioning who he is, mind my asking how the hell you came across this? SC

Not sure I buy the 'bunches' thing, but if so it's been bunches of Americans. So Old Susannah best get ready. As for Emma, prepare to be the last of the 1800s. SC

March 13: OH what a busy busy day! Alexander II of Russia (Alexander the Liberator) - 135 years U.S. President Benjamin Harrison - 115 years Susan B. Anthony - 110 years Krzysztof Kieślowski - 20 years (I can't believe it's been that long. The Red/White/Blue triliogy unsurpassed in cinema, imho) Cinematographer John A. Alonzo (Chinatown, Scarface) - 15 years Maureen Stapleton - 10 years and on the same day as Ms Stapleton, the most important of the lot: the aptly-named Robert C. Baker, who invented the chicken nugget! - 10 years

Heard that song n dance before. I'll definitely keep an eye on him for 2017 but make no mistake, he will see it. That said, sounds like Catherine Zeta-Jones may become available, and I'm the right age bracket, unless she really likes em 15+ years older. She'll have that pile of MD cash too! Here I am CZ-J! SC

Iron Maiden's new Boeing 747 tour plane 'Ed Force One' lost a battle with a ground tug, and the launch of the tour may need new travel arrangements. This all due to Bruce Dickinson's piloting? Is that for real -- they let HIM PILOT the goddamn thing? SC

Two top competitors in Alaska's Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race were attacked by a snowmobiler Saturday morning, leaving one of their dogs dead and injuring six other canines. The suspect, Arnold Demoski, 26, was arrested on charges of assault in the third degree, one count of reckless endangerment, one count reckless driving and six counts of criminal mischief in the fifth degree, according to Alaska State Troopers. What a fucking ice-hole. SC Here's a picture of Nash, the dog that was killed.

There are those close to him who suggest fitness guru Richard Simmons absence the past couple years may be due to his being held captive against his will. However his 'handlers' say there's nothing to that. SC

Lawrence Van Gelder, who worked in the newsrooms of five New York City newspapers over 55 years, most of them as a critic, columnist and editor at The New York Times, died on Friday at his home in Manhattan. He was 83. The cause was leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer. SC

I'm not going to change my potential solo hit with Miss de Havilland, but as I stated here, all signs point toward The Reverand! SC

American Football Players

Former Vanderbilt University football Coach George McIntyre died after a 20-year fight against Multiple Sclerosis. But of NOTE just below that sentence is THIS gem: "This week former Vanderbilt and Chicago Bears quarterback Bill Wade died. Both men had been living in the same assisted living facility. I first saw Wade at a Billy Graham crusade in my hometown of Johnson City. I was a young kid, but I instantly liked Wade and the message he gave that night." Now that isn't just kismet my friends! I suggest you ALL go back and switch your votes for 5th death of 2016 to Graham. IT'S A SIGN! SirC -
4 days goes by and no mention of Janet Jackson cancelling her European tour for unspecified reasons -- still denying cancer. Apologies if it's posted anywhere, the search terms 'Janet Jackson' sure as hell didn't pull it up. I can't believe no one said anything though. SC

Rolland Fox, the father of Canadian icon, Terry Fox has ended his battle with lung cancer. The 80-year-old died on Tuesday afternoon. His family announced his cancer diagnosis in January. This is surely quite sad news for our Canuck brothers and sisters. For those unaware of the Terry Fox story, it's an ESPN 30-for-30 film, "Into the Wind". Well worth the watch, as are most of the 30 for 30 films imho. SC

The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous

A bit of a success story over metastasized breast cancer and a 2-months-to-live diagnosis -- 5 years ago! Bekki Nill, the wife of hockey's Dallas Stars' GM Jim Nill, had a recent write-up about her current recovery. Meaning she's one to keep an eye on. SC -
Things To Do While Waiting For Death
Sir Creep replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
While waiting for death, you can purchase Hell in advance. Well -- 5 acres of it. It includes the gift shop and putt putt golf course, mind. SC -
3/12: Author Robert Ludlum AND Radio talk show host turned creator of shock/trash tv (ala Jerry Springer et.al), Morton Downey, Jr... ...both died 15 years ago today. I had forgotten about Downey Jr altogether till today but he was sure something back in the day. He was fired from radio and Limbaugh was given that slot -- if that's any indication. I had to pick a photo of Downey Jr with a fag because he was well-known for smoking on his tv set and what with his eventual death due to lung cancer, seems fitting.

Former NFL defensive end Gary Jeter, the fifth overall pick in the 1977 NFL Draft, died this week at age 61. The cause and exact date of death were not known for Jeter, who leaves behind his wife and four daughters. Multiple reports say Jeter died Thursday but the NFL Players Association says Jeter died Wednesday. Reminds me of the opening paragraph to Camus' 'The Stranger'. SC -
Out of interest...who exactly are this block of voters that Harry Belafonte's endorsement brings Bernie? Banana boat loaders..? I think that very thing about every celebrity endorsement.

Isn't there a 'Famous For 15 Minutes Thread'? That would catch all sorts of nonentities. There is actually a 'Docter Docter' titled thread by Banshees on the extra curricular thread. I thought it sounded familiar. At least you can't blame Mr. Creepy for not finding it in search. By all means move this as needed. I looked and didn't see anything dedicated to the medical community, which seemed odd. SC

3/10: (Friedrich Wilhelm) F.W. Murnau, of Nosferatu fame - 80 years. Many of his films have died too: "Of the 21 films Murnau directed, 8 have been completely lost, leaving 13 surviving in their entirety. One reel of his feature Marizza, genannt die Schmuggler-Madonna survives. Also: actor Vince Edwards (aka Dr. Ben Casey) - 20 years Montreal Canadian great Boom Boom Geoffrion - 10 years

15 years ago some 7-time champion Estonian weightlifter named Mati Nuude passed away. To my knowledge he's the only person who knew at birth he would be born Nuude and die Nuude. SC

Me Telling Phantom To Kill Himself
Sir Creep replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I actually like Dr.Z and though he (and Phantom) don't know when to just let something go, I just ignore it and carry on. Maybe he's my guilty pleasure, as I'm prolly responsible for a good 30+ 'likes' of his. That doesn't mean he isn't obtuse moreso than not, but amusingly obtuse. I find his 'participation' defies definition in that maybe only once in 6 months will he post an obit, meaning bringing something to the table. 4000 posts later he prolly hasn't posted 15 obits. SC -
This is SO not the thread for talking about who MIGHT die. SC

Red Wings great (too) actually. And coach for a season. Great player, RIP. SC

I'll bet you a can of coffee to the homeless that not more than 3 meet their maker. That gives you lots of lee-way, seeing as you predict 8. Are we on? SC
