Whaddya know; theme team Gris Gris gets its first recorded hit. I actually think that team has a chance (dismissing the blatant point grab that is Shameless of course). I'm very proud of my work on this team and happy we didn't get blanked this year lol. Cmon team, let's follow the lead of Boutras! Zsa Zsa you're 'next man up'. SirC

Yes, on New Years Eve, that is, after the Deathrace deadline, an article about him made use of the word 'recovery': http://www.racer.com/north-american-racing/item/124867-american-racing-legend-adamowicz-fighting-brain-cancer Instead of days, he might well have weeks or months left. Probably not years though. Adamowicz is DI's (i.e. the current Deathrace leader's) joker, could be significant, eh? I like to think that for the Deathrace you basically only need 5-6 "locks". If they die within the first month, you've won. The other 14-15 picks can be gambles. So if one of your gambles turns out to be a dud, it's no biggie. But then I would have thought that Adamowicz would be a lock (didn't make him my joker by coincidnece), and that might be significant, because otherwise Death Impends would be the big favourite to win at this point, needing only Adamowicz and a second hit to win. Without him, DI, DDT and SC all still need three hits to win, with all the "walking corpses" already dead. And if Adamowicz is a dud, it reduces the potential of the teams who picked him by a 20th. So Sir Creep and me are similarly slighty disadvantaged. Hmm... I guess that makes DDT the statistical favorite at this point. Just wanted to give one last nod to this clairvoyant post. Well done gcr SC

DQSP setting trends in the deadpooling world yet again. If it works... You're already behind the times if you didn't search crowdfunding pages. But all they do is tell you who has the big C. And even then you gotta go deep into your search to find em all. I never saw anything for Vanity for example. Doesn't mean your pick those people. I Never saw Haggerty as a dead man, that was a shocker and I'm guessing a pleasant shocker to even Cooley. Anyway, I'm glad you had this epiphany. SirC

Video showing a , meeting with the bruins pre-winter classic, led me to look into Schmidt's health. Apparently, he was in quarantine at his nursing home last year after a bout with illness. Other than that, not much, but I hope he has enough fight to keep him around a while yet.Second on that list to Schmidt was Boston Bruin Eddie Barry, who according to Wiki died Feb 12. I find nothing on Google so take it at face value.SC https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Barry_(ice_hockey) Edit: from what I can tell, Chick Webster moves into the #2 slot now. Jim Conacher #3 Leo Reise Jr #4.

So much for Valentine's romance! The Seattle Aquarium canceled the annual octopus mating event after fears that the 70-pound male octopus, Kong, would eat the smaller female octopus. This is unlike the human species where after mating, the female devours every aspect of the males life. SC http://www.kptv.com/story/31220251/octopus-valentines-day-mating-ritual-canceled

Bruce DeHaven is the Carolina Panthers special teams coach, a role he had with the 49ers from 2000 to 2002, as well as on the Buffalo Bills from 1986 to 1999 during their run to four straight Super Bowls. He has late stage prostate cancer that typically leaves 3-5 years to live. So keep his name in mind for 2018-2020. He's coached in 6 Super Bowls.....he will obit. SC -

Geoffrey Robinson has always sounded to me as much an opportunist as the Howard Marks's or Lynne Stewarts of the world. I didn't include him anywhere this year--I simply don't believe he's in as dire straits as presented at testimony. I need more news updates on his 'condition' with a quote from or visit to a physician at the very least before he even makes a 2017 list.SC Assuming you're under the impression that this is another Megrahi gambit, Robinson's been a longtime advocate for the Catholic Church to be far, far more transparent regarding its child abuse, rather than someone who was hiding information, so I doubt he'd be hamming up his ailment. I could see him lasting for some time, but that's moreso because the cancer is still stable last I've read of him and not because of deliberate exaggeration. It's quite a simple rule IMHO: if a person could 'potentially' use a health matter to obtain public sympathy, no matter how scant, they sure as hell are doing it. Don't be a lemming, don't believe the hype. It's my rule and it works for me; dismiss as you feel appropriate. I think history favors my position though. Citing an opposing name or two when you know I can throw at least a 2:1 ratio back at u is a disingenuous position. Talk to the hand. Insert Robinson into the rule and there you go. It's funny it's only ever the criminal or their attorney who proffer doomsday health, never a doctor on the stand confirming it. Think about it. SC
