GREAT? So she's in say Elizabeth Taylor's category? Or is there another word beyond Great for those actresses? Or have we watered down the word 'great' so that everyone gets a Participation Trophy? SC -
and some chap named Mandela Never realized this (or heard of this fellow) till just now, but did you know the Carter Administration's US Ambassador to South Africa (1978-81), William B. Edmondson, died on the SAME DAY as Nelson Mandela?! That's incredible coincidence. SC https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_B._Edmondson

Okay you accept people as friends without examining their beliefs. You freely admit you're retarded then. But for some weird inscrutable reason you make an exception for me, I believe Islam is vile and a bigger retrograde force for humanity than anything else in history, including cancer, AIDS and possibly even Gillette Soccer Saturday. That's my religious belief, why don't you defend that you floor-licking mong? (awaits your next shitty vague re-hash of your worthless platitudes without actually going near the specific question at hand) ...most of my friends, we share a common interest. Which is our love for specific genres of music. As I've said, I know many people of different religious beliefs. One such friend is devoutly Christian, just because I don't share his belief in a deity, that doesn't stop me having respect that he's a damn fine guitar player and has a beautiful White Gretcsch Falcon. That's one hell of a euphemism SC

Why the fuck are people still interested in Katy Perry? She sang in the Super Bowl in Jan/Feb whenever it was....probably a ton of hits back then and I'm guessing scant fewer, percentagewise, since March. But all in all I don't know why anyone would be. SC

I can't imagine why anyone would suddenly think Roy Jones Jr is going to die in the next 380 days. If you want my #1 boxing sneaky pick, who I don't think I'll be using but 2017 he's almost a lock, is Floyd Mayweather's uncle, who was also champ, Roger Mayweather. He DEFINITLEY sounds like he's got some Ali going on in his grey matter and Floyd said he quit boxing to help take care of his uncle/one-time manager, who sounds like Alzheimer's or whatever. He would be a good pick if you're looking for a December 2016 death. SirC

Yeah you were a little casual announcing this one Y-Dub. I hope you don't break the news when Castro or Carter goes. Yaaaaawn yeah someone died, DDP team needs an obit.....meh. SC Tbh, I can't say I've ever heard of this guy up to this point, far less any of his choons. The STP band name rings a vague bell, but it is well off my radar, so he gets the same treatment as everyone else. In fact he could have got worse had I been bothered to include the phrase "heroin and crack cocaine addict". I think you'll find I'm a little more detailed/enthusiastic/shocked/euphoric, etc etc with deaths about which I care. It's up to others who do care about specific deaths to further comment on the thread in which they are reported. Calm yer jets. STP were popular in the 90s, but then drifted towards the where-are-they-now? genre. I'd heard of them, never really bothered to listen to their music. So when someone told me at a gig I was at last night and said "Scott Weiland is dead", my reply was "oh that's a shame" and then went back in after a smoke to order a beer. Me too. I'm 52 for fuck sake I didn't listen to STP. But if you're going to announce one of the top 10 deaths of the year (and make NO fucking mistake, this is), please do it with vim and vigor. SC

isn´t Sandy a hooker´s name? At least a very funny one for a top-level politician! Thanks for your idiocy Guesty. Sandy is a JEWISH name, you fucking dweeb. Tell Sandy Levin who was a Michigan senator forever that it's a hooker's name. Feel free to use your head for something other than a hatrack. SC

Ed Walker, the (blind) 83-year-old Radio Hall of Fame host — who dominated Washington’s airwaves in the 1960s as one half of “The Joy Boys,” with Willard Scott (thus a guaranteed obit) — has recorded his final episode of The Big Broadcast, after recently being diagnosed with cancer. “The last show was a real tearjerker for me,” Walker told WTOP’s Bruce Alan, who co-hosted a WWRC talk show with Walker from 1987 to 1990. “It wasn’t easy.” Walker invited Alan to visit and conduct an informal interview last Friday, after making his cancer diagnosis public. Kind of a sneaky pick, I hope I just ruined someone's unique pick for radio hosts. SC

More positive news for Larry as he says 95 per cent of his cancer is gone: http://washington.cbslocal.com/2015/08/18/gov-hogan-95-percent-cancer-gone/ In his first interview last week, he says medical scans found no trace of cancer in Hogan’s body after five months of aggressive treatment. SC

Sir Creep replied to Spade_Cooley's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Hmmm, well there was one person who was diagnosed with pancreatic C about Dec 2014, who hasn't been mentioned here and I certainly didn't expose the name. We may be talking same person, maybe not. Only two clues: SHE is an AMERICAN. I used her as an alternative in one DP. I joined two pools that required 3 alternative names, and of the 6 people I used as alternatives, 4 have died (Molinaro, Mankell, Nimoy, Kerkorian). I need to have better judgement! SC PS: I scolded many for choosing Aherne in 2015 cuz her condition just didn't point to it. It looked like a 3-year adventure to me, given her prognosis and diagnosis. So this is the first year IMHO to 'think' about her, and 2017 she seems a solid pick. Means she's dead by Sunday. -

Mine changes daily and dramtically. Everytime someone posts a person who is on death's door here on DL, I move them in and move someone else out. I have approx 14 'sure things' and haven't gotten to the bigger names like on DL or carryovers from my other teams (but I don't see much value in those names). I am terribly excited to send in and ultimately reveal my DDP Theme Team (#1), it'll be a hoot. I could be more creative with Theme Team #2 but will just reboot my 'Life of Brian' 'Death of Brian' whatever I'm going to name it, and virtually no one beyond Brian Blessed has a chance of carking it in 2016. But it's for fun. I was actually thinking of starting up a new game here on DL but there are so many already I don't want to water it down even more. But it would be unique....only 5 names, but you send in a new list of 5 names every three months, so you're not stuck with shite picks. A couple small twists to it but that's the gist. Wondered if any interest in another game that is easy to keep track of seeing as only 5 names....? SirC -

Not sure why it's posted here, what with plenty of other options. The most he is facing is 15 years and he will certainly outlive his sentence. This thread is for Lifers unless it's another *wink wink nudge nudge* title not to be taken too literally. SC
